Ricki Lake did this show in the 90s as a tribute to the disco music of the 1970s. Here is the segment with Vicki Sue Robinson singing her 1976 hit, 'Turn the Beat Around.'

She is so legit. No lip synching like Britney Spears would do in her place. Spears asked to be on American Idol and was told she could not lip synch, so she declined. That tells you how far music has fallen since the '70s. Fake stars. Vickie Sue had far more talent, as this proves. She didn't walk out holding a giant snake in a tights to hope to titillate while lip synching like a robot drone.
