Guys, depression is a chemical illness. It's not something that you can just "pull up your boot straps" and get on with things. You might have the most wonderful life, as Rick said, but still be depressed. It's a medical condition, just as cancer, MS, diabetes. Would you try to fight those "intellectually"? Listening to you guys makes me realize just how many people suffer from depression. Let's end the stigma & get the help we need. Everyone needs different treatment, whether it's medication &/or therapy, just as every cancer patient needs treatment specific to them. Thanks for sharing your personal insights & feelings.
