I want Rick to suffer mentally as he slowly realizes that he killed his best friend just because he adapted to the new world too quickly. I want him to truly understand that he became what he killed - just a machine with a strong survival instinct and no old morals. He killed him, the only person in the world who tried to pick him up from the hospital, who killed a man to save his only son, and whose young daughter he holds in his arms. I want him to know that he did it for nothing, just because he wanted to, because it was easier - to fool and shoot him; because he became Shane back in the moment that took him farther and farther away from the farm. I want him to regret, regret, regret it until his very last breath, remembering all his youth and all the time he spent with his best friend, who he killed because of a woman who didn't loved him (and he didn't)
