The reaction to season 7 episode 5 is comparable...

Most shows would put the reoccurring villain everyone is hyped for in the spotlight, but this one continued to use Evil Morty as the plot twist, ultimately resulting in a payoff bigger than a hype from expectations :)

I feel like evil Morty was more like trump than Obama. He was a political outsider, with a campaign everyone deemed a joke. Although Obama was black, no one viewed him as inexperienced outsider like trump. people claimed he was just a businessman who craved publicity. You can say the same thing about the Ricks in this episode dismissing him as “just a Morty”. I also see a lot of parallels to Bernie sanders in that he wanted a dramatic reform of the capitalist system that no one on the citadel really liked except the rich.
