That's one way to look at it, but also his dream is to be praised for doing something mundane. 😂 Based on the Jerry's portrayal up till now, I'd guess that was the intended take-away there.

That's one way of looking at it, but he's also an unimaginative, insecure narcissist who knowingly and subconsciously drags people down to his level, and idolizes the traditional nuclear family where what father says goes. The drug made him see his ideal state, at an unchallenging job where praise is heaped upon him at every stop, endlessly. I think the episode where he put Beth down for being a veterinarian rather than a human heart surgeon establishes his character pretty well. That household is a Petri dish of personality disorders.

and also Jerry is the only realistic and typically selfish human that doesn't have the toxic Rick gene.

I really like the after credit on this one. Jerry caused the whole thing, but he also fixed it by bonding with Gluty and saving the worlds water. And what he wants most in the world is to be thanked by everyone for it by hand delivering the water to them

The ending of this episode was rick's plan of literally "projecting" himself onto someone else. He had to look in the mirror instead.

The endcredits was Jerry drinking the fluid that got the alien dreaming. Jerry's ultimate goal in life is to deliver drinking water

Not exactly. That chemical connects the what you want with the what you have sections of your brain. So Jerry wants to be appreciated for his work but all he believes he is capable of is being water delivery guy.

Jerry's highest aspiration is to be competent at a job, but even in that world his symbol is still blue balls.

I think the crown at the end that said "King of shit" makes references to the song used in the final of season 2, Hurt by nine inch nails, "I wear my crown of shit, On my liar's chair"

That whole Rick hologram thing at the end was quite emotional. Rick knew what was going to happen, and he took it because now, the insults fitted him. And if you think this was an emotional Rick moment, wait until later. You'll both hate and feel sorry for Rick at the same time.

my theory is that tony isn't dead, he seen that rick can go to other dimensions and he seen that he went to one where his wife was still alive, i think tony faked his death to try and find a way to find another reality where his life is still alive.

the past episode is what i meant about having a strong stomach, and last one is a spaguetti in the season buffet , this one is parody of the old man and the sea, a fisherman that tries so hard to catch a giant fish end up releasing it because he saw himself in the fish as equals we know that rick usually doesn't care when people judge him, but this time he cared that he lost someone that was nice to him as tony reminds rick that although he is immortal with infinite clones, he will someday bite the dust and lose everything if he keep going the road he goes now, also that rick has the power of a god that can make a shitting paradise and take people to heaven, those that are in the matrix cocoons are the ones rick had mercy on even he don't want to admit it is really sad that rick turned himself into a tamed lion that can no longer hunt whenever he wants but as i told you how the family got better with rick's intervention, he can learn from wasp rick that empathy isn't so bad, he put his toxic self in its place to survive dangerous situations but is also killing him inside out, the producers know he is a terrible role model and are taking him in this phase of autocritisism because they cant relly on him being a lovable asshole so much, they don't want the fans to use rick as an excuse for this kzread.info/dash/bejne/X3t3l9R6iJPeeMo.html also rick has no choice but to do what morty and beth say because he don't want morty to go evil rogue and betray him again , as if you remember when jerry and beth found rick's alien prisoner, she said that she wont risk the welfare of the family because she is afraid of losing him, that house is rick's prison, beth is the warden and morty is the guard speaking of which, when will morty learn that his lust ruins everything? and to have balls to ask jessica out without rick's stuff? he already mutated a version of earth, got a monster alien son, was going to let rick's mind die in tiny rick and jessica hated happy detox himself, he had the chance to be naked with jessica and he blew it, she wasn't his wife, she was a nurse in the hospital he dies in

So many questions. Like whatever happened to the "It's-a good-a show" guy? How did Tony find Rick's toilet in the first place? If Rick really wanted to keep Tony away from it, couldn't he just have put some kind of impenetrable shield around it? Seems like it could have been a nice place to bring the family after the wedding fiasco. How convenient for Rick that he thought of building an underground shit-analyzing complex...just in case. (And imagine what a massive undertaking that must have been. Did he put a bunch of Meeseeks on that job?) In the scene where Tony is floating inside that dream tank, you can just about make out a woman floating in another one who resembles "Diane" (Beth's mother). Is it her? Why does Rick need an intern? What is Glootie supposed to be learning? I mean, yes, his undercover reason to get his app developed is some roundabout way of getting Earths's water supply, but what excuse did he give Rick that made Rick decide he could use an alien intern? And these aliens never invented water filtration? Recycling? We know they have space travel, how could they have failed to notice how common H²O is in the cosmos? Or that most of Earth's water is undrinkable and very unwieldy to move from the planet in any case?

Rick is unable to accept his own happiness, neirher can Tony. They both can't even make lasting friendly anymore relationships. Every time Rick opens himself up to emotions or vulnerabilities, reality is right there to kick him in the dick. He is depressed. Not sociopathic or narcissistic; but depressed.

Remember when everyone told you how much they only liked the first episode? You nailed it again, this episode was about the toxicity that people bring to something (a comment section) that, is meant to be enjoyed and they corrupt it and turn it into something destructive. Much like the quarantine brought on by Covid-19 this episode forced people to look into a mirror and again a lot of people are unhappy with what they see. 1.) They want recognition for cleaning up the mess, they themselves made (Jerry). 2.) They believe they are justified in their vitriol online, but it is the id, they don't like (Rick) 3.) They are sick of the folly of those before them will stand up and let you know (Morty) 4.) They are slaves to the drive of technology and follow along blindly (Summer) 5.) They don't care, they love you and just want you to enjoy the journey (Beth) So far the theme has been being "your own worst enemy" and holding on so tightly to the dream of what you believe is happiness and contentment, but in reality not allowing for the journey or the chance to grow, achieve new things, therefore missing out on the full experience of life, love and friendship. I think you have put to rest those who gave their opinion on the last comment feed and can again watch this with zero pre-conceived notions on how you will feel or react when it is over. Because in the immortal words of Matt Damon in that movie: "Scotty doesn't know, so don't tell Scotty".........this serves no purpose, I just really liked that scene.

Imagine Rick had a real friend and a healthy committed relationship. this show would be BORING AF

So until we get a backstory, he might have been just an ally, or -what I think is more likely- Rick cannot cope with losses. As Birdperson explained what WUBBA LUBBA DUDU means. And why Rick drugs himself so much. He seems to consider Birdperson only as a party Bro and he even states his disgusts of his choice (of marrying). And then he watched him die. That's some PTSD sh*t that is best drowned in alcohol. Not healthy =)
