Very nice!! that Otter looks like Bog Oak and if it was stainless would say Rostfrei if not it would be C75 carbon. That modded Case is soo Beans!

It's either grenadill or 'smoked' oak on that Otter Hippekniep. Given the texture I vote for oak.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I know what you mean with the nail-nick! If I can have a pinchable blade opening knife, I'll go for that. I have a tendency to get nasty nail cracks, especially with the high pull weight slip-joints. Sweet collection.

I can't even pinch my 71. It's like an 8 pull. I have a Case large sodbuster like yours but it's from the 70s I think (the new ones aren't good. The handle is thinner and so is the bladestock). You need a smith and sons mudbug. Hand fitted slicing machine💚 I believe thats smoked oak. I love sodbusters i have two sod jrs one jumbo sod. One mudbug. A gec 21 and 71 in green micarta. And i just ordered a otter jumbo hiep (sodbuster).

Great collection 👍 sodbuster's have a simplistic working knife appeal to them. I did have to have a hearing check after watching this video tho 😮 I could've swore you said in Texas Dr Pepper was the Lord's drink 🤔 and yes I had some hearing loss. So I must not of heard you correctly 😉 After all everyone knows sweet tea is the Lord's drink in Texas 😂 Thanks for sharing!

Nailnick is just there for if it was to get oily or your hands got oily, you can still open the knife. It's awesome you don't have to use it otherwise, good design.

How do you like the tru sharp steel? Does it re sharpen easy on a diamond stone ?

It’s perfectly fine for edc. I prefer the carbon steel over there sharp but that’s only because I enjoy the character of the patina it forms. Some say one or the other is better and that may be true as far as edge retention but I’ve never noticed enough difference to make a difference. Diamond stones would take care of it in no time. 👍

I have carried a full-size sodbuster my whole life and you can't find a better knife that's why I want to buy a full-size if you have one for sale
