Richmond's Poe Museum Isn't Your Typical History Museum | Get Out of Town

Ойын-сауық

Lauren and Laurita pay a visit to the Poe Museum in Richmond, Virginia, where they tour an enchanted garden inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's writings and see artifacts from the poet's life. The museum's collection includes Poe's childhood bed where he pondered fears and nightmares, which may have inspired his later writings and emergence as the father of the psychological horror genre. But curator Christopher Semtner is quick to point out that this museum is not focused on things: "It's not a history museum. It's not an art museum. It's a literary museum. It's a museum about something you can't really display: the imagination." Could it also be haunted?

This video just came up on my feed. A little late to the party, but the Poe Museum is fantastic. I visited in October 2024.
