Who would have thought that just a few years later he would eat part of his own foot on camera.

He has a good point about the house analogy. Why have the basement to your own house locked, and the only way to get in the basement would be to talk to the developer of the house? Stupid…almost communistic. Even though I have a iPhone 12 which is proprietary software, I can also respect the free software movement as well. PS…1:07…wouldn’t he disagree with this since it was on a Mac, which is proprietary?

It's a bad analogy. Stallman came from the phreaking/computer club scene of the 70s where everything was either homebrew or pirated. Times have changed and so should his mindset.

@@senorverde09You have your opinion. I personally think that proprietary software works somewhat better than free software…for example, Firefox (not Nightly) works horribly on my Kindle (what Stallman calls Swindle). I use my iPhone 12, which is proprietary, and everything works ALWAYS. However, not all proprietary software works, Windows 11 is absolutely horrible and has slowed down a perfectly good computer that my family uses.

@@senorverde09 should his mindset change, or should the times stop changing for the worse? not everything that changes from how it once was is a positive change, why modify a system that already has the highest level of respect for the user? if the minimum wage was halved tomorrow, telling people to "get with the times" would be a blunt and bloody insult

To me a programmers code is likened to a piece of art work. Nobody strips the paint back then paints over an art work of Leonardo Davinchi but may obtain a copy to appreciate and work from.
