I love how he misspells "override". And it still works.

Computer security in the 80s was mostly reliant on just telling everyone to please not hack them.

Systems had passwords, they were usually just limited to 8 characters. That could withstand six months of attack over a 300-baud modem, but at the same time 99% of sysops used words or numbers as opposed to randomized alphanumeric mixes. This shortened brute forcing time with a small dictionary attack to a few hours. In many instances you could just guess that password with the system admins last name being a common favorite choice.

No, that’s horrific because changing the hardware through hacking is Impossible.

Best film ever. Every scene is more ridiculously funny that the previous one, mainly thanks to Gus Gorman.

Do you know how Pryor lived his live? It's a miracle he made it to 65.

Perhaps spelling Override, "Overide" is the secret code to override all security.

With gas prices as high as they are right now I just thought of this. Just how can we pay the 9/10 of a cent? Richard brought up a very good point. In our money system in the USA we don't have fractions of a cent today. If I recall right we had bits in the 1700's and so many bits equaled a penny. So what happens to the fraction of a cent? Gas is even a part of the plot in the movie.

Fiasco? This is one of my favourite films of all time.

Shit 225 a week. That's 11,700 a year which back in 82 or 83 is like 24,000 dollars in todays money. Shit even before taxes the guy was making nothing.

Gorman isn't wrong to complain; he's getting about 65% of what he's supposed to get, which is a huge cut even after taxes.

They also use British spellings throughout the movie on the computers. Pretty sloppy for a multimillion dollar movie that was maybe Warner Bros' biggest grosser of the year.

We almost got Chris Rock in a Superman film... he was rumored to be cast as Jimmy Olsen in Tim Burton's Superman Lives movie.

@Sherpaful How do you figure he steals the idea when 1) "Office Space" came out more than a decade after this film 2) "Office Space" directly referenced the "salami slicing" technique they used in this film.

No it is not. Firsteval, the rounding of decimal value is inevitable. And by the way, the fact that this computer programmer doesn't already know this and needs a colleague to explains it to him makes me wondering how he got hired :P. All in all, the money still come from somewhere, you can't just make it appears like that from nowhere. The half cent doesn't exist.
