The sheer fact in it of itself that Richard is still here is amazing, let alone the other fact that he's currently a team owner. I mean, he's been around for the entire length of the existence of NASCAR, and he's STILL involved, now as the figurehead of RPM. Just awesome. Glad The King is around giving back to the sport he helped grow so many decades ago.

Dale Sr is the best when it came to consistency under the Winston format. Petty had to adapt to the constant rule changes in his career along with Johnson

The thing I like about Richard Petty is he has always been down to earth, a Champion for everyone. So humble and genuine.
Richard Petty was and will always be my favorite driver...... Hail to the King!!!
Didn't know there was THAT many petty's. One of my favorite drivers i never got to see race. Man are times different. Good looking cars, Lack of safety equipment, and rules, like the beginning they show people on the grass lol, absolutely nothing but balls of steel back in the day. Nothing but absolute respect for these drivers. And Rest in Peace to all the ones that lost their lives in racing.
@joeyjohnson4826

Well you don't race on the grass, much of what is "safety" just bs to bunch the field up, which is not safe 🤣... you noticed how spaced out they are? Now they say the fans would call that kind of racing boring now. I promise you it wasn't. They didn't have nearly as many caution Flags. The safer barrier the Hans device all of that has nothing to do with any of the other lol
Even though some people would probably say that he stayed racing too long, especially from 1988 when he entered his 50's, but without doubt, he more than earned his nickname, "The King." The NASCAR record books, however great or small, will feature Richard Petty a staggering number of times. An amazing career
Petty and his dad did what few others did in early NASCAR... PUT EVERY OUNCE OF THEIR BEING INTO NASCAR RACING. Even in a more structured schedule and higher competition of the 1970’s, Petty was still able to win 54 races in the Winston Cup years. So to say that Petty had it easy... HE MADE IT EASY!
No one will ever break all of his records some are amazing, 10 wins in a row phenomenal....
King Richard is a class act.
I live in the UK so don’t know a great deal about NASCAR, but Richard Petty is such a legend, he just seems like such a normal guy where most would be big heads. Legend
Thanks for the memories Richard. I’ve been a big fan of yours as long as I can remember.
Richard Petty the king of Nascar
I don’t care what anyone says Richard Petty is that GUY he is the greatest NASCAR driver of all time and there is no debate and no one is coming close to EVEN touching that title and that line of greatness Petty had.
10 Races in a row wow ❤️
Richard is The King of Nascar and always will be known as one of the greatest legends.

He's the most accomplished driver in NASCAR history and that will never change.
I remember his last season, I went to his last Phoenix race.
I remember my dad had a picture of the king in our garage and in the pic he had the STP hat on with the brim bent kind of squared like he does at 26:00. I thought that was cool as hell and I swear every baseball cap I had was bent like that growing up lol love the King!
Thanks for making this, very enjoyable to watch The King's history unfold, and, dammit I feel old , seeing daytona 500 footage(first race I remember watching with interest as a kid) rooting for that kool kat in that 43 car to win, and he did, with kool kat cunning on two tire pit strategy. G.O.A.T.
The first lap in the PLYMOTH was legendary, the competition was 😨
The KING!!! Awesome video!!!
When I saw the notification for this I thought he died cause you know how people look back at people's lives when they die. Sry it's just something that I noticed
Thank you SO much for posting!
I have so much love and respect for this guy
Great vid, what a wonderful career.
What an amazing career. 200 wins and countless of other records in NASCAR. His career ended before I was born, I would have loved to see him racing every week. Long live the king. NASCAR is one of the two sports that I watch even during vacation and get out of bed for it (also during the night). The other one is Formula 1.
I carry a lot of respect for that man. Richard Petty he never forgot where he came from.He never let money go to his head. That's one thing I respect him for
Wow, Richard Petty was a man of many images throughout the '60's and '70's especially, he's 83 and still goin' strong, long live the King of NASCAR!!! I even have 7 pairs of the sunglasses he marketed for Cool ray polaroid eyewear from the '70's!!! They're sometimes easy to come by!!!

Back when they were truly bone stock cars the best racing NASCAR ever produced watching race on Sunday and go by 1 on Monday
Richard Petty wins plus Richard Petty wins times 100
That '79 finish gives me the goosebumbs.
Richard Petty is the greatest BADASS in the history of NASCAR. No one will ever be what The King was and still is.
Dinoco is All His
It's unreal that Lee Petty screamed by the second place car like that in 1959 winning the inaugural Daytona 500 by a dang yard and they are still having close finishes there at Daytona still. Man, oh man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great guy.
The King of all nasacr will never be matched 200 hundred victories forever the the King
The REAL King Richard!
It was so cool to see all the fans come down to the fence and wave off a beaten and broken car because they knew who the driver was and what he meant to the sport. Even broken and beaten he still had that final lap...Many others have deserved it and never got to have that aspect...I.E...Dale Sr. And Alan Kulwicki...
Classic nascar 🤠🤠
The greatest in all of Nascar. 🚦🏁

Wow....I never knew he won 10 in a row....can't believe it amazing
Richard Petty always has been my favorite driver since I was a kid 🤣 I was talking about him after I got some stuff for Christmas I believe but my mom asked me and dad why he always wore sunglasses asked if he was blind 🤣🤦
I still stand by NASCAR as it was known died with the #3

Yeah, and before anyone says that NASCAR not being stock is what ruined it, no, what ruined NASCAR is its terrible marketing strategies and seeming apathy towards its original fanbase. (In other words, they're looking for short term gain and long term loss, and they don't care who gets in their way, a symptom of which is becoming too common in all sports.)
The convertibles and people standing in the apron just shows how long Richard has been around
I want one of those Petty Enterprise hats
Hail to the KING!

Richard petty is the greatest racecar driver ever
I am 58 years old and my father told me long time ago which driver I should keep my eyes on when watching Nascar on Tv…Even to this day Richard Petty is. I visited his museum/garage
petty and Reagan. 2 of the greatest
That Pontiac rolled his window down at the pit stop, like he was pulling in to a gas station to order, fill 'er up with Ethyl.
As a fan of over 40+ yrs , I've seen many changes in NASCAR some good some not so ! I'm proud of what they've done when it comes to safety , but I do miss being able to tell one manufacturer from the other . As it is it might as well be like the IROC series .
Can I get the lead in composite/photo of him smiling with the car in the background on a fold out auto window shade?
All hail the King

Thank you Richard Petty for everything. You will always be my hero.
no one will live long enough to break 2oo wins!!!!!!! god bless dale!!!!!!
27 wins in one season 1967 with the same car which was a year old 1966 model at the time... unrepeatable ... \ Petty's 200 wins.. 190 of them in a mere 800 starts!!!! un thinkable...the next closest Pearson with 105 wins,,

you don't have to tell me any nascar history.. I grew up surrounded by Petty blue, because my dad worked for Chrysler/Plymouth as a body man. but a lot of Richard's wins were in 250 lappers on a 5/16 mile track .. not 500 milers like we know today... he will always be the king... hope he is healthy and happy today and for a long time to come... he gives me hope that i too can live long even if i flip 20 times or fly out a window of a stockcar.. that man is a miracle in so many ways.. hell he even put up with Kyle while being Maurice' brother and Lee's son that's friggin amazing enough.. nowhatimean / ps your statement wrong... have you been to level cross? in 1967 they drove a 66 model car and it was the same car that won over 20 of those
Didn't knew that Jim Lampley was in Nascar.
This video's amount of minutes is the same as Richard Petty's 43 number! Interesting.
