Richard Nixon Plays "Happy Birthday" for Duke Ellington
Duke Ellington was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom on April 29, 1969 at the White House. The occasion happened to coincide with Duke's birthday, so at the conclusion of his formal remarks, Nixon asked those in attendance to join him in wishing Duke a Happy Birthday by singing along with the tune while President Nixon performed the piece on piano.

“And please in the key of G.” 😂
it's great to see a president playing an instrument, i love it
Nixon was an amazing man, and a Naval Officer.
Visited his library a lot growing up since we were close by. Now for my birthday, I request Happy Birthday in the Key of G from my pianist Mom 🙂
Nice little piece of history, manages to give me a small sliver of respect for Tricky Dick.
