This song was very famous in Indonesia in 1988 (if I am not culpable). I was ten years old at the time. I heard this song bunch of time from radio, and I unfortunately sang it too with the broken English. I didn't know anything about English language at the time, but I grew up with this wonderful song...

It's interesting how Richard gets this solid resonance without opening up the mouth much at all.

Yup! His voice is very solid and nice. Very forward as well and very spoken vowels. Contemporary singing is very much so a place you should be able to sing very effortlessly. And richard doesn't sound like hes pulling a ton of weight either to get this sound. Good vocal technique after so many years of singing is a sure sign hes a great technician!

What a musician. This performance was a spiritual event.

Repeat Offender was the first album of recorded music that I purchased. I'd fall asleep listening to it blown away by the songwriting and vocal talent. It made me want to be a better songwriter. It's been great watching his transformation from #1 Pop star in the 90s to Hit songwriter in the 2000s and now finding a balance hit-songwriter / singer-songwriter. What a phenomenal and well deserved career... If I could spend an afternoon with just my guitar a pad and pen and any songwriter it would be Richard Marx.

Richard's 'Right Here Waiting', albeit being a musically genuine and original masterpiece itself, touches my heart even more deeply as it makes a beautiful harmony with the melodies of classical instruments.

Finally someone who understands music. When I talk about the classical/instrumental parts of songs people look at me like I'm an alien. When you have touching heart felt words, a beautiful voice to sing then and classical elements on the instruments there is nothing more wonderful than that. It just melts my heart every time even with other songs and singers. I guess it make the song more romantic.

My first ever favourite song when I was 13 .... now I am 30, getting married and this will be the song....still brings me to tears after all these years.... thank you for this wonderful peace of art!!

Why have we wiped this type of music off the face of the planet? True art at its best.

As he got older, his voice is better in my opinion. The way he has been doing it the past few years in these live acoustic session with other instruments, along with the slower and more breathy approach to his songs are so much better than those radio versions!
