I had a '74 for several years, in pristine original condition, and I miss it every time I think about it. The Dino was the apotheosis of modern sportscar design - IMHO there has never been a more beautiful design - not before, and not since. In the years I drove it, the only person who disparaged it was a moron in a Benz AMG 55, a fatass truck with a silly engine. The Dino got nothing but smiles and thumbs up everywhere we roamed. 100% reliable, the best-handling thing imaginable, with a/c that ran cold, power windows that worked, a radio and power antenna that were a waste with the sweet music of that valiant 6 filling the glove of a cabin. I always preferred it in a deep, reflective color, and it took a lot to resist re-painting mine from the original black. Hammond's got it right - the car of the century. Every century,

The original Dino - the one with only 6 cylinders - is the car of its century for me as well, in yellow to be more specific. And I also agree that it is the prettiest car ever designed by Pininfarina or by anyone.

Stunning little car, and easily a contender for C.O.T.C., well in front of a Porsche, quite dangerous for having the engine in the wrong, read worst, place!

And the Dino was, in turn, inspired by the Porsche 904.

take a look at a 904, I believe the Dino should be COTC from the satisfaction of driving one, I drove mine from 1974 to 1985, I had not realized how close the 904 was until seeing an article on it this year. It must have been designed by an Italian, and may have inspired the Dino, but the Dino is much better, near perfect, except for the back killing seat angle that allows a person to be in the car, and the a/c on the GTS was not up to the 118 degree temps of the Sacramento valley, I just removed the roof and enjoyed the sound. I couldn't drive mine after back surgeries , I have faster cars, all more comfortable, but the overall beauty and driving balance and satisfaction will never be forgotten.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime....:-((((

Much prefer the Dino GTS style, and the rest as well.

Lovely car, quite similar to Triumphs TR7 in my opinion.
