This is a very nice car as the design isnt gaudy, conventional but yet it is beautiful on every angle like a typical classic car. Engine is not perfect with the typical issues affecting petrol but with Zf gearbox it should be reliable with regular maintenance.

The problem is not a petrol thing. It's manual/automatic. It's a reall auto gt type of car. And most of all every time you push the clutch on a manual you are pulling the crank against It's axial bearings. I drive a manual one and i try to press the clutch as least as possible and while warming up i wait. So differently as my 450whp miata's who are more violent as a 3200gt 600whp car in comparison. I do all rebuilding itself. But even though i like the trident staring the costs don't add up.

@@TrustyPal The coupe (also known as the 4200 because it has a 4.2 litre V8) did come in a manual (although not many were made). I have driven both the manual and the Cambiocorsa ('robotised' manual) vesions and both are good. The Cambiocorsa does take a bit of getting used to and some throttle control (it is not a double clutch or automatic) but if you don't believe me, check out Michael Schumacher's opinion at kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKOlyLeIlpzZntY.html&ab_channel=DavidS

If you're looking for one, don't bother manual, get an automatic, the throttle by wire (and this happens to be world's first) system is just diabolical, there's really no way you could have smooth start with manual 3200GT, either stall or jolt, the automatic model is free of those problems, absolutely better choice, although clutch will only lasts 10,000km

INUMIMI28 interested in those cars, but how often do you need to change the manual transmission? And how much are the usual reparations like new brakes or the new clutch?

Jan Heskamp Clutch on this car doesn’t last very long, the one that I had (sold within 7 months) had 10000km when bought, and clutch started to slip after 5000km, the cost was roughly $12,000. The throttle by wire system damages clutch and it’s off the shelf ZF 4-speed, that’s never designed to take that amount of abuse. Owning a 3200GT, Coupe, Quattroporte V, you need to be always prepared. Have at least $30,000 at your disposal if anything happens because important parts are their weak points

What do you mean the clutch will last only 10.000 km? The automatic in the 3200 gt was a true auto (unlike the 4200), without any clutch, wasn't it?

No, far from it. I've had a 3200, driven a 4200, and now own a GranSport. The GranSport is by far better than all of them, but the 3200 and 4200 are very similar, you just get a gutless engine instead, which is the largest downfall to the GranSport

Yeah, but you can't make a judgement over a car you've never owned, and judging by the character of the 3200, and the Cambiocorsas unsubtlety, I don't think it's right to say the 4200CC is a much better car

I looked up a basic ecu tune and exhaust change on the 3200 gt and power is in increased from 370 hp to 422hp. The 3200 has 3.2 litre twin turbo v8 so alot of tuning potential.
