I was just thinking that... Once I took apart one of my cameras and I nearly had an anxiety attack trying to figure out where all the screws and wires originally went... So I have no idea how he actually does it to this scale...

the amount of work this takes is crazy and dude does it all day every day. mad respect.

That's a good amount of wires. An unexpected full restoration, but at least now you'll know it's done right.

Mat not only have you got an incredible lets do it mentality but your actual story telling skills whilst keeping up with the workload is impeccable, your uploads have an entirely unique dynamic about them that nobody else quite matches, that alone keeps me watching.

Well there are few skilled people inspired and try to inspire others to save & re-build scrapped cool cars but among them few are on top : RichRebuilds, Tavarish, Samcrac, Rattarossa, V-tuned and Matt.. +a very special mention from Germany : Sreten who has a channel specialized to resurrect BMW on his channel : "M539 restoration" they are always on top of the views each time at least in my case so, that is why i really enjoy every episode clip each of them post (sometimes they also meet & appear in same clip doing collaboration which is also fantastic because they spoil us viewers with they ingenuity and impressive amount of dedication they put into they 'r projects ending with special projects & crazy results that is why we love them ! EDIT : Shout out to the old top gear crew Hammond, Clarkson, May and dearest old pilot : Tiff Needell and the modern one Chris Harris !

I miss watching top gear and the grand tour so much. Watching Hammond here with Matt was incredible, I love the energy they both have. Great video, it was neat, and I hope you get to finish this amazing project by Christmas. I will be there no matter what!!!

Richard Hammond is one of my automotive godfathers. He's experienced more in the car world than I can hope to in my wildest dreams and yet he remains humble, humorous, and encouraging. With his blessing the sky is the limit for this restoration. Keep your word Mat! I can't wait to see his reaction come Christmas.

I think Hammond comes across as condescending in most videos these days. A superiority complex on display drawn from faded, history. IMHO of course.

Gotta say Matt it's incredible how you manage to tell such a great story while accomplishing so much technical work and procuring parts, it's genuinely incredible.

@@erik-001- yeh, I’m stuck at home on sick pay with a collarbone that’s in 4 pieces and a load of titanium holding it together. On top of that, I have 2 cracked ribs, a swollen knee and 19 very itchy staples. So I apologise to you that the highlight of my week at home alone is a video that brings me 23 minutes of distraction and happiness 🤙🏻 enjoy your day.

I think Matt is one of the most genuine people on KZread, and clearly attracts others like him in his life as the caliber of people surrounding him like Hannah, Tony, Kevin and Matts many friends reflect this. Truly an inspiration and its a pleasure to watch his success grow.

Watching you and your dad makes me extremely happy, especially seeing as how he doesn’t seem to mind helping you work and doing more work on top of it. Makes me miss my old man he passed away this year sadly but I’m glad I get to watch these videos! Great work keep it up! ❤

He may act like a goofball when the cameras are rolling, but I'd be surprised if in real life Hammond wasn't an all round top bloke who'd go out of his way to do anything he could to help out anyone that's attempting such a massive project. As for Clarkson? I'd charge the pillock a tenner just to look at the car, then right in front of him invite Captain Slow to test drive it.

Hi. I watched and followed you from day one and all that helped me get through a very hard time what I'm going through at the moment. I lost my youngest son, and all that put me down very badly, but watching your videos helped me a lot and put a smile back on my face, and I saw that there is still light on other side and give me that willing to pick myself up again and watching your videos it's proofs that out there still is good people who have a heart and cares about others. You and your dad are legends to me . I would really love to see you in person if that's impossible and say thank you because you and your videos helped me get through my life day by day after loosing my baby son. Its now my favourite car channel, you work with your dad and your character is easily likeable to see you do these transformations, this makes your show unique. So much humour and laughter despite hardships.

It's good seeing Hammond, I think the world doesn't realise how many of us have a deep rooted love for automobiles due to him and his mates, it gives birth to the youtube era we are in now. So thankyou.

You need some serious balls to do something like this. Hats off to you Matt, keep uploading and we'll enjoy every second of it. Best wishes for the future 🙏

You did a great job with the wiring. Handy tip if you get in the situation again, electrical tape of various colours mark up the harness and the donor car with locations/routes etc. saves lots of time and guessing 👌🏼

Even if top gear is gone. Seeing you and one of my heroes together makes me realise that top gear is not done but with a new cast and name. That is you matt you filled that void. Thank you for your content and keeping making it!❤

Mat You and your team really makes me to appreciate the patience and artistry of what mechanics do.

Love these videos. Matt makes great content. What I would love to see though is a section on a video of how he keeps track of all of the parts, nuts, bolts he takes off the cars. They are basically stripped out.

Hammond's skepticism was fantastic! I've watched Mat's channel for long enough to know that he can pull it off as long as he doesn't end up stuck waiting for some random part.

I’ve pretty much watched every build since the Carpark at the Indian. And although I’ve done this 😵 many times! This has blown my mind. Can’t believe the work/detail involved Mat! You deserve a bloody 🏆 mate 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

It was more so the rods than the pistons. They are the weak link in these engines.
