Richard Dawkins in Conversation with Jim Al-Khalili

Музыка

Richard Dawkins FRS was Oxford’s inaugural Professor of Public Understanding of Science, retiring in 2008. His latest book, Science in the Soul formed the basis of his talk at bluedot 2018, in conversation with academic physicist, author and broadcaster Jim Al-Khalili. The book is a collection of essays ranging from comic parodies of PG Wodehouse to serious discussions of the future, of evolutionary biology, and the role of science in society.

I am a great admirer of Professor Khalili and have read his books and watched his lectures and presentations with great enthusiasm and interest. One of the ablest people around in the profession without a doubt. This public discourse and presentation here of the two great people together is such a very special treat. Professor Dawkins' contribution to evolutionary biology is more than seminal. Take away his books and his outstanding lectures and presentations in the last 30 years and more, and the world will suddenly look so poor and shorn of interest. May we keep listening to these great people live for many more decades to come. And of course their scientific contributions and books will last for ever.

Don't be silly. The eye lens can have its focal length altered by being stretched thinner, or squashed fatter, by tiny muscles. If the lens had evolved without the muscles, it would have been useless. The lens needs to focus light on to the retina, where the photo-receptors are found. The retina would have been useless if it had evolved with no lens, and there would be no evolutionary advantage to an organism with a lens, but no retina. And none of these features are useful without a nerve to take the signals of these images to the brain. Then there's gigabytes of DNA code which controls everything.

live in a world where some contemporary thinkers, unable to understand the meaning of God that humans have found since ancient times, to find the role of this finding to see a structural system of coexistence of the universe. Has been achieved, and the understanding of this word of God among all beings in the universe, including human beings, refers to a unique existence that nothing can measure its limits, although an existence, similar to the nature of the unique existence, surrounds the earth. Which is not visible to any creature, but the breath of all earthly beings is indebted to and dependent on this blessed being surrounded on earth. And now, can the science of human philosophy answer these questions, such as whether the sun, moon, earth, or all the stars and planets are in the position of the vessel, or are they somehow the object of the vessel? Or, with their scientific point of view, have they ever been able to discover the true relation of all beings to a phenomenon such as air, as well as other relations that go beyond the relation of inhaling and exhaling? Furthermore, esteemed scientists should realize that God is not a religion, but a religion of religion and the bondage of human beings on earth, whose laws can be derived from a systematic rule that governs this universe from a single existence, or They recommend any terrestrial idea that the thinkers of any society think for their comprehensiveness that is compatible with the coexistence of the universe.

When the brain function is reduced consciousness goes up, whether drug induced or NDE's. See Bruce Grayson and many other doctors including those specialising in end of life care. So the brain appears to act as a filter not as the sole repository of awareness. There have been a number of patients nearing death who were non communicative due to alzheimers but recovered their speech and in some cases other bodily functions. This all proves that consciousness is non physical and there must be a soul.

Plato said reality is created in the mind and if we can change our mind we can change our reality?` Does that not make perfect sense, in that if our reality is being held within the makeup of our brain function, and we can change that function by believing enough, or having faith, then how is that different from SOMEONE saying “If you have enough faith, you can say to the mountain cast thyself into the sea, and it shall be done”? Now, I don’t know if it is appropriate to ask Richard Dawkins, or his sidekicks, to respond to such a genuine question, for he never comes from behind his myriads of pseudonym’s, or he says that he never debates creationists, which is a lie since he has posted videos of him doing just that. Which means all he has to do is to call everyone who asks questions “creationists” and he doesn’t have to answer any questions, apart from the Dorothea Dixers arranged for him?

Scientists won't discuss what was there before the bigbang, scientists won't discuss what is death. science can't tell you what is consciousness, science won't discuss "why", it only tells you "how", it doesn't mention why matter could be understood by several principles, where these principles come from. science will tell you how we are here, it won't tell you why we are here. what is the meaning in life, what is objective morality? I am of the opinion that science and religion are two entirely different things. Richard Dawkins is well known for trying to eradicate the misconceptions of traditional beliefs, but I believe that he and people like Christopher Hitchens missed the whole point. Their intention was to rock the public religious boat, attract public attention, and make money out of that. It is really no different from what other inspirational speakers and evangelists do these days, exploit people through emotional vociferous projections. He needs to look in another direction. I shall try to summarise where Richard Dawkings went wrong, interpreting the past with his modern mind and not allowing for some," Human misgivings of the past". He did not understand the God Jesus was referring to. Let me explain. God is an Engineering God. He consists of an ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY. that roams the universe in energy form and mass form related by E=m.c^2. As an Engineer, I can transform mass m into electromagnetic energy, through an electric power station by changing coal, oil, and gas and breaking the atom into the electromagnetic energy that makes up any electrical devices, including antennas that radiate electromagnetic energy into any space. A leaf of a plant can turn the sun's electromagnetic light into the matter to make a tree grow, and I can burn the wood in a tree to change matter back to heat, which is electromagnetic energy, In fact, as an engineer, I can resurrect the dormant energy in the mass form found in coal, oil, gas, wood int electromagnetic energy which will roam the space around me and this we do all the time, through our mobile phones which change the mass in a battery to a radiated energy through the antenna, Now that is indeed a relative miracle to other professions, all through electromagnetic energy, I can see through a human body using X rays, and MRI and I can land an aircraft in the fog on a distant runway, all using GOD in the form of electromagnetic energy. When my Grandparents physically produced my parents, they lived on earth in mass form, sustained by the sun's energy falling on plants, and when they died their body mass was RESURRECTED to other types of energy including electromagnetic energy, roaming the universe, and they occasionally pass by, where I tune in to remember their presence in mass form. This is the Electromagnetic engineering GOD that Richard Dawkins needs to disprove, and he never will. Now let us look back to see how this fits with Jesus Christ and his teachings, Jesus never said, " I am the ( only) son of God". What Christ said was " I am a son of God" Later Jesus said, " I shall return to God, my father", and later he said, " We are all made in the image of God!" Later he said to the disciples to use, "Bread and wine as the body and blood of Christ". Let us see how this fits if GOD was in reality an electromagnetic Energy. Since energy cannot be created nor destroyed then energy can be assumed to exist before the big bang and the frequency contents of that electromagnetic energy came in phase and the electric part and the magnetic part were so dense as to cause a breakdown of the " space insulation" and hence matter was formed by the " electric breakdown" better known as the big bang. That was when God, as electromagnetic energy, changed into matter, according to E=mc^2, where James Clerk Maxwell explained how Electric and Magnetic fields are related by, Curl (Electric) = - d( B magnetic)/dt These are two interlaced loops that represent the basic electric magnetic lools in a self-supporting electromagnetic field in all that makes up electrical engineering including all the radio waves that can link across the universe,. Richard Dawkins needs to use his biology after the electromagnetic energy E contained in the engineering God accepted by Albert Einstein in energy and mass form as E= mc^2 and how the engineering electromagnetic God travels according to James Maxwell Curl(Elect)=-d( Mag)/dt. That is the basic characteristic of God, E= mc^2, and that Curl(Elect)=-d( Mag)/dt , and, Elect and Mag may be an infinite summation of F= K.e^jwt, w ranging from zero to infinity. This is an infinite summation of the electrical and magnetic fields which make up God's Fourier Series God is described by the combined work of Albert Einstein, James Maxwell, de Moivre's formula, and the Fourier infinite series. Now here is how God the Father is related to his son and how we all are the son of God and how we all resurrect after we all die. Energy changes into mass, mass, produced contact between elements, hence evolution, matter dies and burns and so it returns back to the Energy that formed it in the first place where the God KERNEL is always present in the transformations and this is shown by mathematics as follows. Let the electromagnetic God Kernel = Ke^jwt. where j is a 90-degree rotation operator) hence using the TRANSFORMATION OR EVOLUTION as being a differential or an integral operator we have, using a differential *Energy = God function = F= K.e^jwt ( God) ....... dF/dt)= K.jw.e^jwt ( son of God) ...d2F/dt2)= K.jw.jw.e^jwt ( Grandson of God) Note how the Kernel God Function =F= K.e^jwt is kept through the sons and grandsons and great-grandsons * The God function could be ( cos( wt) or sin(wt) as e^jwt= cos(wt) +jsin( wt) so there could be many forms of an electromagnetic God, Note that all the transformations of such engineering god of these periodic functions will always contain a God Kernel with them. This is the reason Jesus said, " I am a son of God", " I shall return to my father " also " we are all made in God's image", " Bread and wine as matter can be transformed back to body and blood of Jesus who was the matter and who electromagnetic energy which equals the god kernel = Ke^jwt or related function = K( cos( wt) +jsin( wt)) Richard Dawkins that the God Function was electromagnetic energy which is constantly transforming part of itself into the matter as in a leaf of a plant and the tree lives as humans do and when we die or burn we all transform back to an electromagnetic form in our afterlife, Christopher Hitchens who carried "Christ" in his name wherever he spoke against Jesus when he died had his evolved mass RESURRECTED as the mass Jesus was made, and they both returned to being electromagnetic energy which occasionally passes by us so that we could speak for or against its existence. It is interesting that Richard Dawkins in his mass form, is a very clever dick, exploiting people to make money, while Jesus Christ who knows nothing about Electromagnetic field, felt it around him and he uses the analogy of " a God" to give hope and compassion to all those people who suffered and were thrown to the lions in the Roman Coliseums. Jesus' intention with God's interpretation was to help suffering people, while Richard Dawkins in taking away Jesus and his father God does it for enjoyment and to make lots of money by exploiting the people around him. I believe that neither Richard Dawkins nor Jesus knew the God Function, but I prefer to side with Jesus who was nearer to the reality of the God function than Dawkins was. Considering that we are talking of the public mentality 2000 years ago Jesus with his analogy of God helped people much more than Dawkins does in using God to make money out of people.

“If anyone should cause one of these little ones to lose his faith in me, it would be better for that person to have a large millstone tied round his neck and be drowned in the deep sea. How terrible for the world that there are things that make people lose their faith! Such things will always happen - but how terrible for the one who causes them!" Matthew 18:6‭-‬7 "For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its saviour. Those who believe in the Son are not judged; but those who do not believe have already been judged, because they have not believed in God's only Son. This is how the judgement works: the light has come into the world, but people love the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds are evil. All those who do evil things hate the light and will not come to the light, because they do not want their evil deeds to be shown up. But those who do what is true come to the light in order that the light may show that what they did was in obedience to God." John 3:16‭-‬21

I didn't think it was necessary for him to scold Richard for the funny quote from the editor of New Scientist, though. If I had a kid, and we were at this conference, I would just be thrilled he/she was interested in listening to these guys. I found that quote utterly harmless.
