Richard Baker was an English broadcaster, best known as a newsreader for BBC News from 1954 to 1982. He was the first reader of the BBC Television News in 1954. He was active into his 80s and died at the age of 93.
I was raised watching the news with him and his colleagues and helped not to see history being made but learning of the world around me.
