Richard Ayoade on Submarine | Film4 Interview Special
Фильм және анимация
Submarine is the feature film debut from writer/director Richard Ayoade, starring Noah Taylor, Paddy Considine, Craig Roberts, Yasmin Paige and Sally Hawkins.
'I have been waiting too long for the film of my life. My name is Oliver Tate. This film will capture my particular idiosyncrasies, for example, the way I seduce my classmate Jordana Bevan using only my mind. Also, since my parents' marriage is being threatened by a man who runs courses on Mental and Physical Wellbeing, the film will probably feature some elaborate set-pieces of me taking him down. There will be helicopter shots. There will be slow-mo, but also transcendent moments, like when I cure my father's depression. Knowing me as I do, I will be surprised if this film runs to less than three hours. Note to the press: appropriate adjectives to describe this film include "breath-taking" and "irresistible" as well the phrase: "a monumental achievement".' - Oliver Tate

It's a damn shame that he only has two movies
The cinematography in this film is absolutely brilliant. Almost every frame could be a postcard and when you add on top the cast and story.... just perfect.
Great film, highly underated in my opinion.

Maurits I couldn't find anything from it to take a plot forward. But it's a great film visually, which I will probably watch again.

It was mis-sold as a comedy, when there's no humour in it at all. The storyline isn't believable. 15-y-o bullied outcasts do not get to kiss - let alone have sex with - pretty girls. Why wasn't there a sex scene?

Ayoade is just such a loveable person in so many respects!
One of the best coming of age movie. Its so underrated though. I perfectly enjoyed the movie & Its something what i'd like my kids to watch. I cried, smiled & happy to accidently stumbled upon this movie. Tsk. Simply brilliant film. OST is the best too .

He also co-created and directed Garth Marenghi's Darkplace - which is a comedy series, but I'd say one entirely in a category of its own.
This is the most serious I've seen Richard ever
richard looks great with a beard
I recently watched this film a few day's ago it was a masterpiece I loved it. Richard Ayoade thank you and those who helped promote and make this film thank you. Yes this channel as well.👌👏✌☺
I wish Richard would drop the IT Crowd act and be his charming self more often. Any time he's on a quiz show he has to act like Moss
I just finished this movie about 3 minutes ago. I don’t really know how I’m supposed to feel about it. But I know that I loved it and that I’ll be thinking about it a lot in the coming weeks.
great interview, wonderful movie
Ayoade, such a magical human being!
Amazing Film! Well worth the watch. Incredibly nicely filmed, really enjoyed different perspectives
I just want him to keep on talking. Such a great director, and an amazing film! :D
Underrated in so many ways! But, I think he revels in that, a bit. He is quite brilliant!!! I would like to see more from him!

Love this film so much!
Such a humble genius
This film was definitely not what I thought it was at all, but then again no new film will ever be how you think it will be. It was purely fantastic, showing a boy struggling with his parents relationship and also his very romantic relationship with a girl called Jordina, in his whole life in general but what he died and what happens over the course with it. Such a fantastic superb film by an equally fantastic superb actor/director.
I saw the movie just because of Alex Turner, cause he made the soundtrack but I really like it.

If you can't cope with listening to his voice I suspect you are watching the wrong video. Or perhaps you have ADHD? Either way, maybe just stick to Disney Channel.
