A retired GM would be great. It would be interesting to talk about how they construct rosters, deal with trades, navigate media, contract negotiations, drafts, players that dont pan out to expectations, front office mindset differences compared to coaches and players, etc.

I think we can still have icons. I think Kobe is an icon. I don't know if it is related to how he passed. The Legend of Kobe's career in addition to his short post-basketball career impacted so many. Kobe's mentality is living on and just how he pursued greatness in life and basketball; the mamba mentality created greatness. Even in the internet era, I think Kobe managed to be an Icon.
Homie was capping and JJ knew it.
Nothing to say other than this was incredible. THANK YOU JJ
I’m immersed in Rich Paul’s book and find it compelling, but it feels like the narrative could extend beyond its current scope. While it effectively captures a small part of Rich’s life, a sequel could delve into broader aspects, offering inspiration for those facing similar struggles. Additionally, exploring Rich’s journey through the corporate landscape and highlighting stories of triumph could resonate with a larger audience. Meeting LeBron was pivotal, yet it shouldn’t overshadow his profound impact on the sports agent business through hard work and transcendent business strategies. Which is why I think he shouldn’t avoid talking about him but leaning into that part of his life. Serendipity happened but he still worked hard. It’s ok to get an opportunity.

He definitely will have a sequel when he is even more established. This is about separating himself from lebron in terms of his success. Probably not best to divulge too much nba information at this point compared to 20 years down the line when front office guys and other agents are not doing the job. Signing 900m this past summer is absurd. And I would love to hear the story on him dropping Ben Simmons as a client. Btw if you want another basketball agent book, rich Paul’s legal negotiating partner released a book :: words to negotiate by mark termini There are so many haters in these comments 😂 should not be surprised these are the same reddit commentators who follow the league more like real housewives than real hooping

@@thediseaseisthecureyou put yourself in position to let luck find you. He didn’t get no hand outs. He doesn’t free load off Bron. He learned from the best before he formed his own agency, took all that knowledge plus his own ambitions, and now has one of the most successful agencies in all of sports.
In addition to the book’s current content, I anticipated insights into pivotal moments like Rich’s most important phone call and his role as a board member at UTA. Exploring the inception of Klutch Sports and the qualities crucial in building his team would provide valuable context. A glimpse into Rich’s typical day and how his street knowledge applies to the corporate world could offer a unique perspective. Stories about meeting Mav Carter, the initial days in LA, and navigating the corporate landscape at CAA would enrich the narrative. Additionally, encounters with other notable figures on his journey to becoming a power broker would add depth to the book.
I like the story telling, but I’m already almost 35 mins in and I haven’t hear JJ or Tommy say NUN. Gotta know when to give other people the floor man 🤣

Rich spoke more in detail on this show than others I have seen. Great interview 🔥
For all of you insinuating or just saying essentially that “rich said nothing” in this interview, I have to either conclude that A.) You did not comprehend well or care to comprehend, B.) The subtle cultural inferences he was constantly making just went over your head, or C.) You’re just trolling. Throughout the interview his main points seemed to be about how him growing up in the inner city served as a guide for him to navigate this life, and that he uses many of the principles he learned from there (including his code of ethics) to help shape his current business model. He was constantly eluding to the crabs in a barrel mentality within the black community and how much more can be accomplished if we did not have this (his story about his friend in the steel business or how Rich Kleiman called him following the 1+1 deal, etc.). He talked about how although he had to essentially build this from the grown up, mentorship and apprenticeship is vital for becoming what you aspire to be when it’s offered, you just have to see an inspiration as someone to learn from and not simply competition. He also references how that mentality stems from inner city trauma. He talks about the work it takes to build a business and how he was a pioneer of the business landscape in the agency game. He talks about the importance of trust in these business relationships and how his moral code can allow for a more trusting partnership with clients, and in turn that trust is typically rewarded with better outcomes (cite: the Eric Bledsoe story, the AD story, etc.). And much more. So I would challenge you all to actually listen to comprehend, recognize implicit biases or certain cultural ignorances you may have, and then rewatch the interview and soak up game 💯
