Watching Ricardo and Yula are so pleasurable to watch, it makes my day! Best dancers in the world to me!

I started ballroom and Latin aged 9 in the mid 60's, not to competition standard, but just for the love of dancing, only giving up when arthritic knees made me. I've watched world championship competitions all these years, and still do, and I can honestly say the dancing of Riccardo and Yulia has me more mesmerised than any other couple I've seen. They are utterly sublime. Thank goodness for the people who upload these videos onto KZread that keep can keep me watching this amazing couple over and over again. Many thanks 💖.

Without question cha cha cha is their dance and sit perfectly in their wheel house. This one is quite possibly the best one I' seen from them.

World historic lesson from Riccardo and Yulia: gone is the HARD military gym class cha cha, that some many couples have performed in what should be be a light carnival dance, not hard movement and hard basic action. Am I the only person here who can see a visible discrepancy between the speed with which Yulia is moving her legs and the tempo of the music? She seems to be in such a hurry to make as many steps as possible in a single bar that the spirit of the music (sort of 1940s/1950s) is, in my humble opinion, completely gone from the dance floor.

oh dear. international latin is all about technical aspects. how the routine is clearly, sharply and precisely done. while the music can be from all kind of genre arranged into version and speed as it supposed to be used in international latin. the spirit of the music regarding to certain era wont matter anymore. for example, in samba, you might hear real brazillian samba music, in other case, you might hear reggaeton, or even fast bossanova🤩👍 all I can say is that I can get your point. but R&Y are on top list of professional latin couple. so, performing such a complicated routine or as u said 'hurry' is definitely their orbit😬

I think I do have some basic understanding of what international Latin is about; I competed on the top national level and, ocassionally, on the international level for years. R&Y are incredibly talented professionals, there is no doubt about it, but what I meant is that, to my mind, musicality is missing in their interpretation of that particular cha-cha. I went to music school and dabbled in classical ballet for a while so I always look for high quality interpretation of music. I do realise that in ballet the music is composed first and the choreography follows but at a dance sport competition all the couples on the dance floor dance to any piece of music with the right tempo, regardless of its inherent character or origin; it is not a solo show after all.

Tayo. Heres the main reasons why I think they have won so many times. They have given the people that run dance sport a style that they want to promote and no one to date has been able to match or better. Athletic, powerful, technically precise, fast, agile, and showy. That fits all the descriptions of sport but not necessarily good musically expressive, artistic dancing which is what I personally prefer. cheers.

Tayo. Gee wizz. I thought my type of comment would have made it clearly obvious. But to answer yes! a dancer but retired from competition and teacher with over 4 decades of involvement in dance sport. Not much I haven't seen over that time. Some good and some not so good. Are You a dancer?

Tayo. No videos. My dancing days finished long before social media came along and video cameras were a luxury. Now days we all carry one everywhere and we'll stick anything on social media even if its total crap. You didn't say if you have a dance background or not, but to answer your question these are my absolute favourite couples based ONLY on musicality, artistic skills and balance of partnership. My absolute No1. Slavik Kryklyyvy and Karina Smirnoff or any of his other partners. Surgey Surkov & Melia, Paul Killik & Hanna Kartunnan, Andrea Skufca & Katerina Venturini, Donny & Gaynor, Corky And Shirley Ballas, Allan Tornsberg & Vibeki Toft, Jean Marc Generau & France Musso, Franco Formica and Oxana Lebedew, Shinsuke Kanemitsu & Anna Kovalova, JUkka Heppalanen & Sirpa Surtari. Michael Wentik & Beata, Of the current crew, I really like Timur & NIna, Stefano & Daria, Troels & Ina, KIrill & Polina, Pasha & Daniella, Salvatore & Viktoria. There are others I like too, but these are the ones that most quickly came to mind. You'll notice I haven't listed any of the 3 most recent world champions, purely because they for me don't fit the criteria well enough. Are they good and worthy champions? OMG yes, but for different reasons.

basicly, latin dancing especially when performing some routine is mainly to emphasize their mastery/ ability to perform the routine and the technical aspects well. of course each couple has their own routine as their trademarks. but remember. this is art. it is like judging or seing a painting. it depends on the eyes that see it. and of course reputation might have some influences. whne the reputation is good. then all the eyes can do is look for the flaws😬 all i can say is : if there is no couple that can stand out and outshine R&Y. then R&Y will continue to reign the international latin. FYI: R&Y is DEFINITELY good but theyre not my favorite too. of course this is PURELY personal opinion. to me, theyre all about speed, straight legs and less emotions regarding to the type of dance. WELL here we are, this is dancesport. and it is becoming more and more difficult, faster and more complex😅👍

Liandro Ciccone. In every style of dance I know, the music is what comes first. The dancing is always a reflection and interpretation of the music being played. The music is the conductor and the dancing is the orchestra. That's the way its always been from the beginning. In dance sport you may as well get rid of the conductor ( music) because the orchestra all to often isn't listening and couldn't care less and is off playing its own tune. Good to hear your thoughts. dancesport Playlist. From a Physical, athletic and technical point of view. NO! No one come close to them. But from an artistic, musical interpretation perspective perhaps yes, but that's not what dance sport judges are looking for, or prepared to reward, as I see it..

ZW L. Fair Comment! I suspect it's for the same reason the British wont allow coloured clothing worn by players at Wimbledon tennis. It's not traditional and the brits a big on tradition as we all know. Blackpool is the oldest continuous running dance sport competition in the world and for many dancers its the pinnacle of their career just to dance on this hallowed dance floor, simply because of its long history and of the masters who came before them. The problem with this music is it is easily overpowered by todays dynamically, athletic style of the dancing. How ever, some of the modern music they use today with thumping heavy base beats and virtually devoid of any authentic Latin rhythm or feel in my considered opinion, probably far worse.

После просмотра стало ясно, почему бальники всегда укладывают волосы. Действительно в танце этот разлетающийся хвост очень отвлекает и, как ложка дегтя, портит весь эффект. Плюс пара всегда переигрывает. Это как в отличный кофе переборщить с сахаром, высший сорт, но приторный.

I dont know why exactly, but I prefer other couples who are not so showy, gotcha, dramatically flared (?) , but more respectful of the actual ballroom medals...the actual steps, done really well. The purists, I suppose I am saying. I've attended many, many private lessons over the years with my daughters when they took ballroom lessons. Some competed and placed nationally and at Blackpool in team and then a Bachelor's degree in pedagogy. There's just too much posturing and playing around on the dance floor these days .. in my opinion.

I have to respectfully disagree, Riccardo & Yulia’s artistry, musicality, precision & technique is a joy to watch. They’re performing intricate steps yet make it look so effortless, which is in fact difficult to do & their timing is superb. They’re truly in a league of their own hence why they’re the current 9 time Latin Professional World Champions!

@@bellabana - and Ballroom is enjoyed by those who are and are not classically trained . Its still a matter of artistic interpretation and you hope that the judges, those watching agree and enjoy what you do. Personally, my favorites are Ina and Troels and Louise Hiese and her partner. They have "the IT" factor. Your eyes are just drawn to them. I really do love this sport ♡♡♡.

Nancy Archibald. When it comes to these points you raise here I am totally on board with you. I hope it changes direction before it falls over a cliff in the not too distant future. I know public dance sport interest has been on the decline in a number of countries. I Do hope I'm wrong, because I love this sport too but it needs to get off the steroids.

while i agree there are a lot of dancers that spend most of their time doing leg lifts and posing, i don't think it is true of Yulia. i think their innovation, energy and speed is what makes them more competitive for this style. there are other competition rounds where they only do basic figures, maybe that is the style you are looking for rather than open level.

Em Hu. Without getting on my soap box and sound lecturerous. I get what your saying about R&Y and largely I agree about Yulia. She is a phenomenon and arguably the best female dance sport dancer ever.Their high energy, technical, attacking style of dancing has to date been unmatchable. Perhaps some don't want to because that's not the style of dancer they want to be. But R&Y'S style is obviously what dance sport wants and that's what it is rewarding, and has been for almost 2 decades. Personally speed, agility and all the other physical elements is fine, to appoint, but not at the expense of sincere musical interpretation, or partnership warmth and connection, which is what I feel has been largely forgotten in this style of dance. And yes, if I have one more of those EYE FULL TOWER leg lifts thrown in my face, which seem to be done to get attention and titillate as much as anything I'm going to neck myself. I"m pleased Yulia doesn't do them. but she doesn't need to. I am a very straight male and that's not what in dancing, sets my heart a flutter. I wish they would leave them for the strip clubs and not the ballroom dance floor. By the way Basics done really, really well, can be just as beautiful to watch, if not more so than some of this overblown nonsense that's dished up by some at present. This is just my short version, you don't want to hear my long one. Cheers.

Leandro. Chill bro. Teams matches at competitions, even Blackpool are considered more novelty events and its the fun part of an otherwise very intense programme. Its not meant to be taken so seriously. Besides they are a part of a team, so when do we ever not cheer on our team. Its the same as being at the football game without the fights and mayhem. Cheers.

The women are gorgeous the men are handsome the gowns are outstanding at a constant jerking motion of the dance is disturbing I much rather watch West Coast dancing which is more sexier the more delightful to watch that's just my opinion West Coast dancing is much better
