Riccardo Del Fra invites Kurt Rosenwinkel for a set of dialogue in the intimate format of the duo.
Kurt is the special guest on Riccardo’s recently released album ”Moving People”. Both players have a high respect of the jazz tradition, are open-minded to different genres of music and are concerned about composition. All the jazz lovers know Kurt’s extraordinary skills to improvise beautiful melodic lines and sophisticated chords voicings. His records are Cult albums and many of his compositions are played by jazz musicians allover the world.
The years of companionship with Chet Baker have left a strong influence on Riccardo’s approach to melody, teaching him how to make the double bass ”sing”, as well as how to make the soloist shine.
Kurt and Riccardo propose a moment of introspective and joyful counterpoint through a program of beautiful songs, to share it with the audience of the A-Trane jazz club.

Kurt Rosenwinkel ist der "special guest" auf Riccardo's kürzlich erschienenem Album "Moving People". Beide Musiker besitzen hohen Respekt vor der Jazztradition, sind offen für verschiedene Musikrichtungen und widmen sich der Komposition. Alle Jazzliebhaber kennen Kurt Rosenwinkels aussergewöhnliche Fähigkeit, schöne melodische Linien und raffinierte "chord voicings" zu entwickeln. Seine Platten sind Kult-Alben, viele seiner Kompositionen werden von Jazzmusikern auf der ganzen Welt gespielt.
Die jahrelange Zusammenarbeit mit Chet Baker hatte einen starken Einfluss auf Riccardo's Herangehensweise an die Melodie und vermittelte ihm, wie man den Kontrabass zum "Singen" und den Solisten zum "Leuchten" bringen kann.
Kurt und Riccardo möchten dieses Programm eines inneren und heiteren Kontrapunktes schöner ”Songs” mit dem Publikum des Jazzclubs A-Trane teilen.

Thank you for sharing this concert video. The whole entire performance is exquisite and sublime! Soul Eyes on this video is the most beautiful interpretation of the tune I've ever heard other than the classic masterpiece by Coltrane/Tyner.

Great jazz tone and playing, superb, boutique amps are nice but it is hard to beat a twin reverb and paul's guitars, and Kurt's playing.

I know, such a surprise! Sounds great as always. Kurt would sound good on a cigar box w/ rubber bands, however.

Does anyone know the exact model of that guitar. I know it's a PRS and I think a McCarthy Hollowbody but what's the rest
