Ricardo Montalban was a seriously underestimated actor. Every Director who worked with him had nothing but praise.

Sadly, very true. He was an amazing actor. I can't imagine anyone playing his roles of Rourke on Fantasy Island or Khan in the movies or the series. His equal is just not seen everyday by mere mortals like us. The look, the smile, the body and the voice, his voice was amazing.

Ann Miller when interviewed about this dance number stated that it was brought in to save the picture. Ricardo Montalban badly injured one leg as well when he had to carry both Cyd and Ann and twirl them around in the middle of the dance number. It was a great number with great music. Cyd and Ann looked very sexy with Ricardo.

Never has a cat fight been so colorful or choreographed so well! Best part of the movie, which was pretty much unwatchable other than this! Leave it to Cyd and Ann to give their all in a performance - ‘course Ricardo was no slouch either and just as easy on the eyes! Great dance number!

Ann Miller was a cousin of mine. Her father was from a small town near where I grew up and he was my grandfather’s cousin. (Mine too I guess) He moved to Texas where he met Ann’s mother and they married, had Ann, and split up fairly quickly. She was raised by her mother, who was a stage mother but very doting towards Ann. Her dad became a wealthy Houston lawyer along the way. She had very little to do with him growing up but I noticed she married wealthy powerful men from Texas several times. Marriages didn’t last. She seemed to marry people like her dad. RIP Cousin Ann😊

Apparently when shooting had been completed the studio knew they had a dud on their hands, and this dance was shot and inserted into the film to inject some much-needed life into the project. It is really the highlight of The Kissing Bandit, however the film still bombed at the box office and lost over $2,000,000 - an absolute fortune back then.

@@cate4890 What opinion? You said who cares about the Dance of Fury. Then you hyped the singing. That's no opinion, that's just a prejudice. Two great singers made a movie that flopped. Dance of Fury was added at the end to try and save the movie. The dance was spectacular, the singing was just meh. The movie failed at the box office. No one remembers the movie but they do remember the dance. Your opinion is uninformed.
