Rhythm Roulette: Psycho Les (of The Beatnuts) | Mass Appeal
Ойын-сауық
For the latest installment of Rhythm Roulette, Mass Appeal presents Psycho Les of The Beatnuts, whose random records consisted of albums from The Crusaders, Jim Caraldi, and Jan Garber. Les gave all the records a spin, but ended up pulling from the Jim Caraldi jawn, as well as Jan Garber record. Two beats in record time.

"Some Beatnuts shit" just like Les says. It's their sound from random records. Point blank period
A Beatnut made a Beatnuts beat, and everyones complaining because he wasn't coming with Tom Cruise energy, lol.

I think the issue is people were expecting a sound from their older albums but what they also don’t understand is that took along time of digging to get those records to flip
I love how no matter what records get picked, they always make a quintessential beat. This beat is so Beatnuts, I need him to spit a verse...lol.
i can understand that this is not the best Psycho Les beat...ok..but....This is the type of beat when u hear the beatnuts on it rhyming and u became crazy!! so respect!

Vintage Beatnuts shit...Simple...Not all of that over produced shit that y'all kids are into nowadays...DOPE...
Probably my favorite Rhythm Roulette of all time. And there have been some bangers. This just has that Beatnuts sound.
psycho les is a legend.
I hear Greg Nice Adlibs all over this
This is definitely a beatnuts type of track!! I can definitely hear les and juju getting crazy on this
the fact he sniffed out this gem while blind-folded is mind-blowing enough. so so good
I've been a DJ for over fifteen years, nothing huge, but none the less, this track would kill. It's better then given credit for. Great transition track

I don’t understand why people are being so judgemental. This man has made some of the dopest beats in Hiphop PERIOD. Have some respect
Anything beatnuts did 1990-96 was insanely hard. They turned breaks around especially Spinning Wheel break like crazy
Knowing the Beatnuts, I knew he was going to go with that sample lol! Shit is fire!
Awesome. Love the Beatnuts. So classic. Now we need some DJ Quik
This is actually nasty as hell he has those golden jazz ears he could have probably been a dope big band arranger.
I like how he didn't just decide to roll with the obvious nasty ass loop he found on the Crusaders album... made something that had more of that signature Beatnuts sound... and yeah, him and Ju would tear that beat down...
I actually really liked the beat he made. Def some beatnuts type shit
BY FAR the best Rhythm Roulette of all. It's criminal that we can't find an official version of this beat anywhere or that The Beatnuts didn't rap over it!
That was the perfect record for him to flip, shit really did sound like some shit off a beatnutz LP.
Les is more!.. And still popping with that typical undeniable Beatnuts signature sound. some of you are tripping and sound all the same. if you dont see the potential of that track... youre a clowwwn!

Love how low-budget and low key Les' lab is. Save all the gloss for them other beatmakers. No offence to them, but Les made some Beatnut shit right there. Beatnuts Forever!! Beautiful, 1 luv, papo, hold it down.

i think its dope cause its different. wish more cats would sample other records than soul
Genius.. He made the whole beat with a mouse
I mean it's pretty crazy how he picked those records blindfolded and the beats totally sound like beatnuts style.
I like it, it has that funky fun spin on it ala Psycho Les and Beatnuts style.
Damn he's got the vintage MBOX!!! That's way before my time I remember my sister had that one! Classic!
This is one of my favorite episodes! Underrated

i dig that beat he made
beats totally fine, dont know why people are tripping. i can imagine junkyard juju spitting fire on it.
That's crazy how even blindfolded...yo still found something that fits that Beatnuts sound. Crazy.
Les had no energy at all. Lol! But I be damned if that ain't a beatnuts beat. I can hear he and JuJu rhyming over that shit easy.

liveguy Maybe he wasn’t too happy with the records he got to work with. Normally he doesn’t have to choose from 3 records that he had to pick blindfolded so if you’re not ‘lucky’ then it means working with ‘better than nothing’ samples. I still think he he made the best out of the situation.
