The annual Rainforest World Music Festival that has put Sarawak on the world music map since its humble beginnings in August 1998 is now an established event in the international music festival calendar. In 2005 I was commissioned to produce a feature-length documentary capturing the essence and spirit of this joyful, exuberant and intoxicatingly colorful festival. An 80-minute version was released on DVD in 2006. This 45-minute cut intended for local TV never got aired but here it is now on KZread. Heartfelt thanks to all the beautiful musicians & enthusiastic festivalgoers who gleefully enlivened the proceedings!

Antares, wonderful RWMF from when it was only 8 years old!. U captures the spirit of the real world music that truly resonates with ppl. nowadays we often find ourselves missing that unique charm n raw energy. a beautiful reminder to everyone of the real RWMF roots...!!.
just back from rwmf2024 with smartphone. my first rwmf was back in 1998 with a nokia. introduced kid to it this year and hope my adventure continues when i am no longer around. watching this video brought back many memories. the world is riddled with culture and its beat must continue to be preserved for future. see you again rwmf in 2025!
