lesROKnoobz elephants are... elephants. They don't need comparison as unique as they are.

That's bizarre. They're kind of just making their presence known. Notice how at the end, one rhino faces forward, as the other one faces opposite of him. That's pretty cool. They obviously have a system. They're probably like "frank you had to piss the hyenas off again. We can't keep coming here to save you. Last time..."

unbelievable how subdued the hyenas were completely slient and no taunting Rhinos got respect for a good reason i bet

I love how the Rhinos just show up and the Hyenas are "We were just hanging with our buffalo buddy....nothing to report"

Very intriguing! Great video! And come on people... be a little nice to the person who shot this. He obviously had it zoomed all the way in and without image stabilization, every little shake can totally disrupt the frame.

Love this video, hyenas once again go home with empty tummies but it is neat to see one species looking out for another like that.

Dùbhghlas .Douglas seriously. She managed to get some good footage of stray patches of grass, and random clouds. I think this was a grass documentary which was rudely interrupted by stray animals; we shouldn't blame her for trying to continue her work of pointing the camera at the ground while rambling on about those rude hyenas.

Are you serious? I am amazed. How is this bad footage? Its like any loony too intellectually handicapped to formulate an original opinion will latch heedlessly onto the most popular one available. This footage was decent; they were obviously very far away, and they managed to capture the better part of whatever happened. I honestly have no idea what you are talking about; I cannot even mildly sympathize. It is as though everyone on Earth suddenly found oranges horridly distasteful. There are far worse videos on KZread; I do not know why this one has attracted so much filthy commentary.

Rhinos, elephants and hippos will protect other animals from predators for the pure reason of self-preservation. The more the predators eat the larger their pack will grow over time which will pose a threat to even the rhinos, elephants and hippos.

Paul Chambers Sure. No sympathy at all. Rhinos have always been such prudent bastards.They quickly model the processes in their habitat and do the maths to calculate the best strategy for the survival.

aGradeDubstep it couldn't be classed as deep thought processing, more a learned experience. Big herbivores see there are less predators when they protect smaller prey animals. A rhino or elephant doesn't see the reasoning behind it only the outcome. The outcome in this video is rhino saves the buffalo, the hyenas go hungry and weak meaning the pack is not strong enough to attack a baby rhino. We see it much deeper than the rhino does

@Deepak. S 50 hyenas wouldn't touch a Rhino. They would all be dead because their half-life would be shortened

Rohan choudhury Nonsense. Rhinos have no interest in protecting any other animals. If they do, it's simply a coincidence resulting from territorial aggression or curiosity.
