Good grief reading all these comments about people bashing the ceiling and electric lock etc. I am betting the people that could afford this talked to the installers and manufacturer and home builder and already went over all this and made informative and educated decisions and know exactly what the hell they are doing. Be lucky that this man is sharing this with yall since 99% of you experts couldn’t afford this home or safe.

Hope they buy good batteries. I could never see putting Chinese electronics between me and anything mission critical.

That is a beatuful looking door, great job installing it. I also think its great that you got your Sons working with you. Your Sons really should be wearing safety shoes with a steel cap though. They handled that heavy door like experts but its better to be safe than sorry :)

I'm just curious about one thing. Is it possible to build the hinges on the inside swing of the door? I would think that this would provide a cleaner and more professional look. Great job, and thanks for posting.

On an outswing door, the hinges are normally on the outside. It allows the door to swing about 180 degrees open. An inswing door would have them on the inside.

What did the customer do to the ceiling of the vault for fireproofing and security? Love your product by the way!

I believe they put steel and sheetrock on the ceiling.

Congrats on having two strong healthy sons with the sense to keep themselves that way.

Awesome install but when happens if there is ever an EMP attack with that electronic lock?

If you get an EMP, the safe is your least worry.

If we may ask how much is this particular door alone we already have poured walls in place also but ours if fox blocks and we have peeled away the foam to expose the concrete ....any info is appreciated.

​@beebob1279 a lot of safes are built this way. Its not a concern because the door is secured with locking lugs on all sides, the hinges aren't securing the door like a standard residential door. Attacking the hinges wouldn't get you in the safe.

@@beebob1279 I see. The hinges are just a way for the door to swing. As long as the locking bolts engage, there's no cause for concern as it relates to security as even if you cut the hinges off, the door is still captured and held in place by the bolts extending inside the door frame.

Is there anything for fireproofing the gap between the door frame and concrete?

Not trolling, but honestly how reliable are those electronic locks? I can't imagine trusting something so tightly secured to a lock that could fail and result in total destruction of that entryway to gain access for a repair. I've never had anything electronic that was 100% reliable. Really would love to know.

Well, most of the more reputable locks are very reliable nowadays. And, if there is a problem, they can generally be resolved without drilling the safe. I would agree, though that mechanical locks are more reliable, long-term.

S&G Are extremely reliable and if they are to heavily tampered with as far as someone trying to smash or drill them the auto locker drops just like a mechanical. I have had mine for 12+ years and changed the 9v battery twice and not because it beeped but just thought about it.

Heck! That’s a huge vault room compared with most.

I would never use that as a safe room, door swings out which means it can be jammed from the outside and your stuck inside.

That’s a thought but you also lose some space inside. I’d just put a bottle jack inside if you’re concerned with that scenario.

Well, normally it's a concrete lid and this one was poured concrete after the installation. It does look a little suspect during the vid though so I get your point. Additonally, if you were to cut through a subfloor, a reciprocating saw would be a better choice. imho

😂 100%. Also these dont hide so well. Once they find the door they just threaten you or your loved ones and you open it. 🤷‍♂️ best safes are invisible. It was even delivered open trailer. Nice big advertisement! 😮
