I’ve just realised how much Rhaenyra has lost. She lost her mother in such a brutal way, her one-day old brother, her lover and father to her three kids, her father, her stillborn daughter, her birthright and throne, and now her son. The Greens, mostly Alicent claims that she’s had a cushioned life and knows nothing of sacrifice, but look at all what Rhae had lost in just one season compared to her.

Yes, Alicent made it seem like she had it hard for sleeping with an old man while reaping the benefits of being queen and elevating their house hightower while simultaneously doing OF selling feet pics. Meanwhile, Rhaenyra never had a rest thinking she’s useless as a child for not having a cock and when finally acknowledged as heir, Alicent STOMPED on it. 😢

Damn right. Compared to what Alicent lost? Let's see. Only thing of significance I can think of is her husband, Viserys. Cause when she is told he is dead, she does seem saddened by this news. Other than that, her father forced to return to oldTown before coming back 10 years later. And her friendship with Rhaenyra.

i just about broke down when i saw this video. luke saying that he's not perfect like her, then her kissing his temple, only to lose her daughter, then him. and then, we saw that she found the cloak that luke wore and the wing of arrax. then jace breaking down while reporting to "his grace" (can we talk about how the flashback of jace proposing to send him and his brother? i don't want him to blame himself 😭)

Emma D'Arcy has ready understood the essence of a mother's love and plays it beautifully. Every touch, every word is spoken with love. Even down to the way Rhaenyra's eyes soften every time she looks at her children...just beautiful. Bravo

​@@SouthernPrincipelol thanks!! I TOTALLY agree, but feel embarrassed to say that. It sounds so pathetic to not be able to handle sad fiction. But I am totally a sucker for happy endings. Yes change the book just make them survive and I'll be happy :) To modify that: I think that when endings are all tied up in pink ribbons it can be unrealistic. But theres a lot of space in between a perfectly happy ending and one that's absolutely devastating. There are so many ways to have twists and turns and unexpected bittersweet endings that don't end with decimation and death. There is one important point though: I'm no history buff and I don't know what exactly this is supposed to mirror in history. But I think in general this series is supposed to depict mideval history. And let's face it, it was brutal. The one good thing that comes from these depictions is that it brings home to viewers how absolutely horrific war actually is, and how absolutely brutal history has been. It's hard to acknowledge that otherwise. (That's why I'm conflicted about bridgerton having black characters. Sure it's fun that way but it also whitewashes a very real historical period by giving the impression that blacks were a regular part of the nobility. And that does them a disservice to the actual discrimination of history)

@@justincase7848 yeah I do believe as great as an excepted happy ending would be...The raw reality of utter brutality of how things always made for better viewing. Yeah I like when things are depicted as close to factual or in this case close to reality within fiction. But yeah honestly I'm down for it to go as tragic as it can be or a happy feel good ending LOL.. just don't want any in between tho lol . Yeah this new generation we are in I believe are twisting historical accuracy for the purpose of inclusivity.
