RGB dash 2001 Forester STI
thought I'd try my hand at making a how-to video. this is how to replace your lights in your dash with LED strips. this will not work with every vehicle but if you have a 2001 Forester this is exactly what you need to know 🤪
LED strips I used

Saw this tonight at Meadowtown, sweet ride and nice integration of lighting plus relocating the Android screen and gauges amongst so many other mods!
Amazing work! Definetly gonna try doing the same on my 6g civic 😁
You gotta also do the illumination for the buttons LEDs
Very nice. Different approach than I'm taking on a 2000 Bonneville. Based on the comments you're in MN. Me too.

I am on the fence with this lol. I may look around for a controller based LED to do this with.

Dude never thought of this. That is actually sick. I’m assuming you can do the same with the climate control?

I can, and I did. It's not super bright but still pretty good.
well, my Outback has the D light out, looks soldered in.. Will probably cheat and get a spare from the yard, as usual. My 80s Subaru have a removable layer and then it's all transparent.

The tiny soldering scares me
Where did you run the power to

I have the power for this tied to my switched power at the 12 volt cigarette lighter. My plan is to have its own switched power eventually but we'll see how far I go

@@stressed_garage awesome video and project. I tried to do it myself, but my dad and i felt that the piece wasnt conducive to having the led strip in it. Not much room to work with. I ended up putting purple cellophane over the lights, so now mine are just purple. But they look cool.
Ic u have some extra long wires ??
