RG Goblins vs 5c Recurring Survival - Premodern MTG Tournament - Round 4
Ойындар
It's Round 4 of the 2024 January Portland Monthly Premodern Paper Magic Afternoon tournament. It's an always strong RG Goblin deck vs a very sweet Survival brew with Recurring Nightmares for added value. Let's go!

Great video and nice alters in that survival deck. lightning bolt is quite unusual in goblins and probably the least commonly seen card in there, quite a lot of lists play tinkerer though, especially 1-2 years ago. It's good when the meta becomes artifact/ stiflenought heavy. Quite a few were playing 4 naturalise a year ago as well when land tax parfait was super popular
Love this content guys. I'm seeing all videos and premodern is cool. in Italy isn't much played it's a pity. I will enter the discord 😊

Thank you! Funny enough, Italy just had it's Premodern Nationals a few weeks ago. I believe it was called Chaos Orcs Fest - sounded like a lot of fun!

@@Heavy_Play Yeah but in the lgs there aren't many tournament. I'm a goblin guy since I started playing magic, love them!
A good battle. Love Marshal's brew.
Watching game 3 noticed John really only mixes the middle of his deck when he's shuffling, leaving the top and bottom uncirculated. Might be contributing to his mulligans.
A lot of missed Sharpshooter triggers. Not that it would have made a ton of difference.
Why Palinchron?

I believe it's so you can cast Recurring Nightmare as many times as you want, as long as you have 3 lands + another creature with an ETB. For example: Ghitu Slinger is lethal damage, Deranged Hermit is as many squirrels as you want. Wall of Blossoms = draw your deck, etc. etc.

My guess is that if Palinchron can be recurred with Nightmare, you could tap all your lands prior to it ETB'ing and generate a buncha mana.
