RFID in the Warehouse and Distribution Center
The UHF Passive RFID Revolution began in the warehouse. Long before there was item marking in Retail, before races were being timed, before RFID-enabled access control took hold…there were tags being slapped on pallets and cartons in the warehouses of consumer goods manufacturers, in preparation for shipment to warehouses around the world.

Alien tags can provide up to 36ft / 12 meters of read range. The actual results will depend on what lies between the tag and the readers antenna. So if you have other shelves this range will be reduced dependent on the materials on that shelf.

A lot shown is the built in software in Alien readers. The latest version "Gatescape" is available on this guy: www.alientechnology.com/products/readers/alr-f800/ Another set of software shown is Active Identity's Envoy www.activeidentity.com/

Some of it is the Alien embedded "Gateway" that is resident on all Alien readers (free) and some is Active Identity's Envoy which is also now embedded in the ALR-F800-X Reader and called "Emissary". It is provided royalty free with the ALR-F800-X reader.
