تشتهر منطقة وادي الباذان شرقي مدينة نابلس بكثرة ينابيعها وانتشار نبات القصب فيها، وانعكاسه على نمو حِرفة صناعة السلال، حيث تعد من الحرف القديمة التي تشكل مصدر دخل لكثير من العائلات. فهي حرفة يدوية تراثية مميزة، كانت تقتصر على كبار السن ليتوارثها اليوم الشباب في هذه العائلات أيضاً.
العم أبو محمد ياسين يروي قصته العريقة مع نبتة القصب لصناعة السلال، وكيف ورث هذه المهنة عن أجداده في مسقط رأسه في وادي الباذان، ووصفها بحديثه "صناعة السلة، كأنك بتبني دار".
هذه القصة هي من ابداعات مشاركينا في مشروع " عالم بعيون فلسطينية" للجولة الثانية على التوالي الذي نظمته بذورللتنميةوالثقافة بالتعاون مع الممثلية الألمانية العامة في رام الله.

Wadi Al-Badan, located in the east of Nablus, is famous for its springs and its reeds used for making baskets. This old handicraft is considered the main source of income for many families. Moreover, this handicraft is considered a professional job done by older people who passed their profession for the young generation to master.
Abu Muhammad Yassin, a Palestinian from Wadi Al Badan, tells us his story of making baskets using reeds, describing the process of making the baskets as building a house and how he inherits this profession from his ancestors.
This story, taken from Seed's project "A World through Palestinian Eyes," is organized by its volunteers over two phases in cooperation with The German Representative Office in Ramallah.
