You seemed to miss the point... he was asked to make a live remix of the song in a totally different style than it was originally composed in. And he does it all live, in front of an audience, so I'd say 4 minutes is pretty good considering some people spend WEEKS making a similar remix in their home studios.

Yep, even I got it. So that's how DJs do it. But they always use someone else's bits to sample while Reyn Ouwehand creates his own samples then puts it all together in the final piece. Very educational, shows how a musical piece is built up from the various elements.

@TheHorsenation he was asked to make a disco version of the last ninja on the spot, and he did a good job of what he was asked to do, considering the short notice. He could very well be thnking what he was going to do next during the 4 mins, its not easy to do something on the spot like that.

Outstanding DJing skills. Real Robert Holmes vibe to large sections of it (for any Gabriel Knight fans).

This from the guy who did the last ninja2 remix I bet matt was proud & very short notice he was given. Like his apple laptop too do his tunes. He records them to that and go on the other ones.

Hm, usually I don't like advertisements in replies but I went and listened to the tune. Great disco version. I heard another one before and didn't like the fact it was so heavy on the drums/base you know that BOOM BOOM BOOM.

Intro? :( Headdesk. It's not an intro, he's laying the accompaniment and the beat. I'd have hoped it's obvious.

Not easy? Not easy? To us ordinary mortals it seems nigh impossible. If I got it correctly, he plays the various instruments and records himself, then he uses the playback as background for his solo instrument? That means he must have an amazing sense of timing. Usually only percussionists/drummers have such an absolute sense of timing. I bet his first instrument as a kid was the drums. Just one gripe: that last part was not disco! :-p

tongey1 oh, my THX system also play this tune very low. Concidering the last TLN-tune came out loud and clear it is a useless comment you gave there, better luck next time.

Way to ruin his own song. He leaves out the really cool part - the climax which the whole song builds up to (in my opinion) and makes a very jazzy groove out of it. This sounds very happy and dancy, while the original sounded rigid and therefore like action. Ever wondered why jazz tunes are never used at the climax of movies? Well, close your eyes, start this song and picture what our ninja hero is doing. I guess staggering about on opium approaches it better than avenging injustice.
