When my uncle and brother passed away in the same year, I came across this song. I remember crying so hard after hearing it for the first time. There's something about this song that makes me feel like they're with me, comforting me, even if it'll only be temporary. This song feels like a warm, comforting hug that I never thought I needed.

Dude, everyone uses it to an extent. Unless, it's live. Which it can still be used, but not as many do. That's why music sounds different live than in the studio. The only music that doesn't use it is classical music and any music before maybe the 70s or even the 60s

this song ..especially when that part hits after old enough to understand just gives me flashbacks when i was happy and everything and all those nice things it makes me tear up everytime i hear it and gives me chills cos its just so damn beautiful
Honestly, this song is immaculate. Abandoning familiar singer-songwriter structure, forcing you to fall into the story it is yearning to tell. The lyrics at first glance are wayward but soon reach their destination when examined as an entire poem. It is when that gorgeous pathos of a string section begins that whatever emotion that wasn't explored during the verses gets codified with meticulous and visceral phrasing. This boy is 21 and has seemingly seen the world through a lens far beyond his years. This song is paint and we are the canvas; part of a perniciously heartbreaking but inviting album. A true talent.

Rex really captures the feeling of living through the transitions of life with the people/person you love. He makes you feel how lucky we can be in life with the people we are with and how we can be better version ourselves not only for them,, but also for our own sake. While life happens and when your effort can seem like they're always never enough, all it takes is just a 10/10 album for you to be inspired now to make decisions you couldn't before because you never had the balls.

Screen shotted so fast
This song explores the speaker's contemplation of their role as a protector and the uncertainty about its significance. There's a theme of a perpetual show, with references to a projector and an everlasting encore. The lyrics also express a desire for enduring connections, especially as the years pass. The speaker feels at home when surrounded by loved ones and reflects on the joy of growing older together. There's a recognition of not fully understanding oneself, with a hope that understanding may come in time. The song conveys a mix of introspection, longing for lasting connections, and the comfort of being understood by someone who knows the speaker's darkness and secrets. Really, a great masterpiece of a song. Salute rex!

That hair on the sensor is having a great time
idk if i’m looking into this too deeply but i like how the instrument players aren’t all facing rex meaning that there is no particular spotlight on him and they are all just doing their own thing.

it always give me goosebumps everytime the strings kick in
Thanks to the algorythms I found hope in a lost world of continuously repeat beats and tempos plugged together with bars that make ones ears bleed, this is a breath of fresh 21st century air. Thanks ROC my faith in humanity has been restored. Bravo!!! 👏
Why does this make me cry. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

When he said "the great protector, is that what im supposed to be" i felt that
that “I’ll do the same” and “old enough to understand” am dying for.
every time I listen to this song, my heart strings start to pull 😩 amazing artist with just as amazing lyrics.
one of the most beautiful songs to ever exist
The string arrangement and ensemble are otherworldly in their beauty!
This may be the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard.

Pluto Projector The great protector Is that what I'm supposed to be? What if all this counts for nothing Everything I thought I'd be? What if by the time I realize It's too far behind to see? Seventy-mil projector I can show you everything, yeah And we're on our way to glory Where the show won't ever end And the encore lasts forever And it's time we're due to spend Spending the years together Growing older every day I feel at home when I'm around you And I'll gladly say again I hope the encore lasts forever Now there's time for us to spend And it's sublime with you, my friend This right here still feels like the honeymoon When you say my name, nothing's changed I'm still a boy inside my thoughts Am I meant to understand my faults? I don't think so I don't think I'm meant to understand myself Maybe you do And that's good for you Maybe in time Maybe one day I'll do the same I'll do the same I'll do the same I'll do the same I'll do the same as you I'll try and hold it up Soon I hope, or as soon as I'm old enough Stay forever, you know more than anyone, yeah, whoa And it's you that knows my darkness And you know my bedroom needs You could blast me and my secrets But there's probably just no need

His lyrics are so sweet. And his voice is just perfect. No editing needed! Anyone else inspired by him?
Thank you so much Alex for releasing this song and the many others! You make my day every time!
I just recently discovered about him. And damn, I actually love him. This is the first time I've seen him do live as I usually listen to spotify. It makes you love him even more. He's that damn good.
