Teacher, I think using the completed square formula for teenage students is preferable at the outset. So if y = ax^2 + bx + c, then applying the completed square formula you initially have (x + (bx/2))^2 - (bx/2)^2. This gives ((x-2)^2 - 2^2)-10. Then you get (x-2)^2 -14. We already know a = 1 (because x^2 has no coefficient), so h = +2 and k = -14

y=(x-2)²-3

​@user-xy6rn1eb1f Hellooo! This is because it is -h in the Vertex Formula, which is y= a (x - h)² + k So when substituted, it would be -(-2), -3 = 2, -3 :D
