Yoshi vs Riptor

I've been around since Goomba VS Koppa, which, understandably, made me interpret the series as a fun joke meant to do fighting animations. I think it took until this episode for me to start taking it seriously, and I've never looked back.

My first death battle was Goku vs. Superman! That was my first experience, and got all excited and nervous. Also, we need Spiderman to come back to death battle!

Who should he fight.

I can't remember exactly what my first death battle was but I can narrow it down to 3. It was either RoboCop vs Terminator, Godzilla vs Gamera, or Mario vs Sonic 2011

My first Death Battle was the original Goku vs Superman. I have my own playlist of my favorite Death Battles and it starts with Goku vs Supes!

This is still my personal favorite episode of the show, mainly because it features my two favorite characters in fiction. The only way I can think of it being topped is if they do Bugs vs Mickey

This is a nice surprise... Didn't expect you to make a video about rewatching your first DB... Mine was Godzilla VS Gamera and honestly still think the episode is pretty decent

It’s a pretty good episode for the time. The fight is pretty good and the argument for Spider-Man winning is pretty solid, especially since Season 1 was so surface level with their reasoning (Superman, Rogue, etc…)

I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing a remastered version of this episode. I also wouldn’t mind seeing a redux Luke Skywalker vs Harry Potter like they did for Mario vs Sonic. Obviously Harry would still lose, but at least they would have a real analysis on why that is instead of just talking about what happened in the fight. Perhaps it could look something like this: Luke Skywalker + Physically superior + Precognition predicts all of Harry’s moves + Far more skilled with a sword + Lightsaber skills counter most spells + Much more level-headed + Can still attack even without his lightsaber = Force is just as versatile as magic - Technically less experienced - Occlumency counters mind control - Too much effort with the force will kill Luke Harry Potter + Technically more experienced + Better stealth via invisibility cloak + Magic shields counter most physical attacks + Faster healing via Episkey and Wiggenweld potions = Magic is just as versatile as the force, but… - …too reliant on expelliarmus - Physically inferior - Reckless - Hot-headed - No options without his wand

Batman still loses Sonic should’ve won, just felt like they did it to please angry Mario fans Watch them somehow make Harry win, they screwed Vader over

The first episode I remember seeing was Lucario vs Renamon. The first one I saw day one was Jack vs Afro, and I’ve watched every episode day one since then.

Neat. My first exposure to DEATH BATTLE! was the first Mario vs Sonic. Ever since watching that, I then saw the other episodes and have been a fan since. Funny enough, my 1st suggested fight (that would eventually become an episode) was Tails vs Luigi. What was your first requested fight that would end up becoming an episode? I'd love to see a reaction to that if it was an early season episode.

My first ever video was either Shadow vs Vegeta or Thor vs Raiden

my first death battle was Genos vs War Machine

I like this episode more than Batman’s other ones. Not because of the matchup itself (it’s a basic one at worst), but the fact it’s the outright best one for Bruce itself. Iron Man was a close second, but even with that one, I couldn’t get into it that well. Also, my first episode was Akuma VS Shang Tsung. I was in 3rd grade when that came out, and I knew more about Akuma and Shang Tsung more than Boba Fett and Samus before looking into the latter matchup.

Something about spiderman vs batman is that it definitely has flaws but its a charming episode where it does its job in its time but they went their way to make their personality more shown. In the episode spiderman always look cocky but knows to act serious and batman silent as he is just doesn't give any emotion. Out of any of the episode before its not as expressive as this episode

It seems like part of every fan’s childhood was watching this and getting mad that Batman didn’t win. Except for me, it seems. I wanted Spider-Man to win because I don’t even think I knew who Batman was, I saw him all in black and thought he was a bad guy.

My first Death Battle was Mario vs Sonic (2011), and my experience watching it was a little weird due to me not really understanding what the show was when I watched this episode. For a bit of context, at the time I had recently watched a video by Cinemassacre comparing the SNES and the Sega Genesis. (For further context, I was only, like, 12 or so.) So when I came across a video that said “Mario vs Sonic” I thought that it would be similar to the Cinemassacre, just perhaps focused on the Mario and Sonic games rather than the consoles as a whole. I wasn’t really aware of vs debating or powerscaling at the time, so my previous experience made me think this was about the quality of the games rather than the strength, speed, abilities, etc of the characters themselves. Thus, when they started doing the analyses for the characters, I remember getting kind of confused as why they were focusing so much on stuff like their powers and whatnot. I became even more confused when they started playing an animation of the characters fighting. And due to my mindset of thinking that this was about the quality of the games on top of me being a Nintendo fan, I was a little upset at first when Mario lost. But when they did the conclusion I started realizing what the show was going for with it being about which of the two fictional characters would win in a fight, which ended up helping me be a lot more accepting of it. I would watch a few more episodes for a little while, but I eventually lost interest until many years later when I returned to the show in Season 9.
