I really like how the lyrics are being written in ink (like with a quill), instead of just popping up in cliche font in random places on the screen. Just creates a dark and brutal (sorta Morbid Angel type) vibe. Not to mention the song crushes fucking skulls. Great shit as always, Revocation. And during the guitar solos it shows a violin, classy.

Justyn Fogarty Actually, the violin (and the song, for that matter) is a nod to the H.P. Lovecraft story "The Music of Erich Zann," which, as detailed in the lyrics, is about a man who must play damned melodies to keep extra-dimensional beings from awakening in our world.

Holy Lovecraft, Batman!! Revocation is the bees knees. Conjuring the Cataclysm and Madness Opus have found a permanent home on my work commute/road trip playlist. Thanks Metal Blade and Revocation. This song is just a masterpiece. Went to see them live when they were warming up for Cannibal Corpse shortly after this album released and when they started with this song I think I was the only one in the audience!

itsybitsyzombie Revocation do whatever the fuck they want and it's always awesome. If you haven't listened to Deathless I recommend it more than any other modern album.

Justyn Fogarty Agreed. It's one of the main things that attracted me to them. They play everything from Progressive, Death, Thrash. etc. and combine them all seamlessly.

itsybitsyzombie Sorry for the late comment, but if you still haven't listened to the album you'll be either happy or disappointed to hear that they've still got pretty clear thrash influence. Personally, I'm glad they're still kind of thrashy - it differentiates them a little bit from the rest of their tech metal peers.
