Revived SABRE 76 Jigged Bone Congress

WOW, that came out really nice. The bone may show it's age but man does it look good. Great job bringing the blades back. Thanks for sharing and God bless.

I think, at the time, they were criticized for being made in Japan. Likely a post WWII sentiment. This one has plenty of life left in it. Doing well. I hope you are getting some cooler temperatures today. Stay cool and take care. Thanks for having a look.

That's called an inside easy open notch. Easy open notches allow you to grab the blade. Inside notches are more aesthetically pleasing and harder to make. I think they do make it easier to access the nail nicks. Knife looks good, brother. 😊

Thanks, brother. It certainly helped in this case, where the blade had become deeply recessed. I can see the esthetic value of the inside notch. Have a great day!

@Pocket_EDC well, you don't have a big notch destroying the symmetry of the knife. From the side, the inside notch is hard to see.

Nice clean up. I'd say it is just right. The other day I found an old Case in a jewelry box that I believe belonged to my grandfather. It is from the 70s and is in about the same shape as yours was. I am hoping to clean it up and bring it back to life. I also got an old Kershaw Double Cross at a pawn shop I am looking to bring back to life as well. That one is from the early 2000s.

Awesome! Especially finding something that belonged to your grandfather! Bring it back to life but, maybe leave a little of his tiners on there. Sweet on the Kershaw as well. Knife restoration can be a very relaxing and satisfying process. Enjoy.

Amazing restoration its such a pretty one to and i absolutely love restoring old knives and watching it to.. if you want that pen blade to sit more flush you can grind a little at a time on the block of steel where the pen blade starts to get it seated a little lower! Cheers though excellent work #BeUp

@@Pocket_EDC If I’m not mistaken I think President Lincoln had a Congress in his pocket the night he was shot. I saw somewhere that it sold for over a hundred thousand dollars. I believe his was white though, well worth looking up, I love history, great knife, not a great night for Lincoln however. You have no idea how proud I’am of that video you made of my car, I’m definitely going to show my buddy’s at the next car show this weekend. Thanks again for everything Todd, it really means a lot to me, that Canoe has been in my pocket since it arrived. I even cut myself right after telling my daughter not to cut herself.😂🤣

I think you are correct on the Lincoln story. Hmmm. $100,000.00? That's cheap by eBay standards 😂. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. You gave me good material to work with. Good for you. Sacrificing a finger to teach a lesson to your daughter 😂. That's good parenting. Maybe though, don't teach her about drowning while kayaking! Glad you're enjoying the knife.
