Revit 2020 - Geometric Adaptive Curtain Panels - Revit Massing Tutorial

Learn how to create adaptive curtain wall panels in Revit and use them on a mass surface. Create 3D geometric patterns that will wrap around any shape you create in Revit. Create a mass, divide surface and adjust grid numbers, then modify a curtain panel adaptive component to use in a mass.
This way you can create 3D panels, custom facade, organic design, design building skin in Revit. Let me know if you need more info about this topic.

Thank you so much 🙏 it really helps me a lot in understanding the adaptive families, is it possible to create dna strand like element in adaptive family!, i have tried but got some errors

Yes, absolutely! You need to use spline through points & make those points reference points with constraints.

Thank you! How do we solve the void error in one of the cells, It has happened to me too

This could be resolved by reducing panel height, or disconnecting its members and adding separate joints at the triangle corners. The error also may be resolved by simplifying curvature of the mass surface.

Loved this tutorial! What should I do if I load my pattern into the mass family but the program says it can't "Make type" ?

I used the zig zag pattern instead of the triangle pattern.

Is it possible to project a pattern on the surface? so instead of divide it, projecting the pattern?

Hi @nolimiters, well it doesn't actually work like Rhino and Grasshopper where you project patterns on a surface. I've used to use this projection technique in Rhino, but that's not how it works in Revit. Let me know what you're trying to achieve & I may be able to help you out.
