I remember my dad buying tickets for these movies when they first came out because he grew up reading these comics and he wanted to see it on screen while also sharing it with me. When I got my first job I bought the tickets and took him so he could continue to live the magic on screen. I’ll never forget him getting a little choked up at GOTG2. He usually doesn’t show excitement or feelings towards movies but seeing him actually moved by a Marvel movie was a different experience I’ll never forget. Just recently moved to another state so we haven’t had that movie experience in a while. Miss him and I miss the memories we had. One day we’ll have that again.

Honestly I still don't love an MCU film as much as the first AVENGERS film 🤷. Not only because these things became less special afterwards, but because I think that the first films simplicity and iconography, makes it timeless. You don't need to see any movie before or after the first avengers movie to love it.

Post credit scenes were actually really popular in the 90s for comedies and some action movies as well to show all the bloopers... Not all of them but I remember always staying after just in case. It may have died out in the 2000s (after I left high school I wasn't going to theatres, I was in Afghanistan. Lol) but post credit scenes were definitely a "thing" in the 90s as well. Remember this was before DVDs with special features, if they wanted to show the bloopers/ outtakes VHS tape had a limited run time so there was usually never any "extras" other than previews. Just FYI. But yes, the MCU took ot to another level with the teases for connected films, that was new.👍

10:52, To further this point, Steve is the main character out of the four previously established main Avengers that is the most traditionally heroic from the start. Tony had to witness himself and other fall victim to his own weapons, spent months as a hostage and lose his new found friend to become motivated to personally protect others and attempt to abandon his selfish ways. Thor had to be stripped of his power and privilege as royalty and be misled into believing his father was dead to gain the worthiness the man he sought the approval of most deemed him lacking of. Bruce’s ignorance and perhaps arrogance in his pursuit of scientific achievement and him accidentally turning himself into a living weapon of mass destruction, only to learn the man he worked with was more than willing to use that weapon is what led him to sacrifice his home, relationships and any chance at a normal life to prevent those that would misuse the power he unintentionally unleashed and to keep civilians from getting caught in the crossfire. Of course, there’s also Nat and Clint, who are both spies and assassins that almost blindly follow the orders of a secret intelligence organization under the belief they are fighting for peace and order, even if their methods are questionable. Steve, meanwhile, is portrayed as an almost perfect man from the jump. Brave, optimistic, kind, honorable, dedicated, and above all, humble for the most part, ignoring his own disabilities out of an almost desperate need to fight for freedom like his parents. And just like Tony, whose own motives can border the line between genuine altruism and ego-driven, masochistic martyrdom, Steve’s sense of duty eventually becomes arguably his biggest flaw, as he ends of sacrificing himself for his ideals, but in the sense that he has deprived himself of not only peace or happiness, but also any sense of identity beyond his desire to serve and fight. And its this contrast between the idilic World War era of Captain America, where good and evil, heroes and villains, was clear that allowed for a masterful narrative upgrade for the character having to decide wether or not the world and values he had once fought for are still there for him to fight for works so well.

In hindsight, I really have grown to appreciate the simplicity of Phase One. Each movie focusing on story and character, with only a brief hint at what's to come. The only exception being Iron Man 2 in that regards, and that is a part of why, in my opinion, its the weakest of that phase. Really loving these videos! Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing your take on Phase Two.

Iron Man 2 was and is still my favorite film. As a kiddo I def didn’t care for plot but Iron Man 2 was just so badass. The armor machine thingy that took off his armor, Howard Stark’s influence, the ducking Mark 5 suitcase suit up, when he discovers the new element, the Mark 2 vs Mark 4, the ducking Mark 6 suit with the triangle chest plate that made it my favorite suit for a super long time, the Mark 1 War Machine suit, the Iron Man and Rhodey chase, the drone fight, the laser bit, it’s awesome!! Rewatching it now the feeling of ‘welp it’s all ending now but I can try anyways’ that Tony had and the dying bit, the difficulty still felt impactful to me, that emotion still gets to me. 8:05 YES HAHAHAHA SO TRUE

It's the most UNDERRATED Show Marvel has ever produced, although it had pretty high viewership. But no one talks about it! It has insanely GREAT writing, acting, and top notch Storytelling! Much better than the newer Marvel shows (not saying they're bad, but SHIELD is better). I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks again for the fantastic content!

Your humour is just 👌. I don't know if anyone noticed Thanos twerking across the screen when the avengers theme was playing. Fucking hilarious 😂😂

This is gonna be my opinion but man, I miss prime MCU. It makes me feel like ever since Disney took over they have been kind of slowly ruining Marvel. It’s even more depressing since this also started happening when Stan Lee passed, Rest in Peace.

Yeah. It feels like Disney/Marvel were just waiting for him to die just so they could spit on his legacy.

It’s not phase 1 but man I wanna hear you talk about iron man 3. (If you’ve read any of my other comments, you can tell Iron Man is my all time favorite hero).

I like iron man 2 a lot, solid but not as good as the first of course, but the only thing I didn't like was what they did with Justin Hammer. That character was fine, but it was so far away from the hammer from the comics that they might as well have given him a different name, which I wish they did. If it was a character named Joe Smith or whatever and kept everything else I would have been fine with it. But they used the Justin Hammer name unless they jump thru some hoops they can never use Justin Hammer proper in any of the movies now, which was more of a threat in the comics then this movie version was. Actual legit threat instead of just bumbling around being a minor threat because he's more of an annoyance, which again would have been fine if they decided to NOT make him Hammer.

I love this movie the major issue is all the Demon in A Bottle’esc scenes where it shows Tony struggling with addiction, or in this case “blood poisoning”
