That’s why I like to buy decants sometimes, like a 5 or 9ml, because I’ve liked perfumes upon sampling and then bought it to realize I really don’t like it after all, and vice versa! The larger decants really allow you to do full day wear tests and really live with the fragrance. I also really appreciate what you said about fragrance is not one size fits all. I don’t understand how sometimes in the comments people get so upset if someone types that they don’t like a popular perfume. As if they were the nose behind it or created it themselves. It’s not that serious.

I agree!! Sometimes, a 2ml works, but a 5-10ml travel size is best for a proper wear test. If I had used a 2ml sample of Valaya, Guidance, Navitus Melon Kiss, and Ambrosia Imperial, I would have never purchased them because all said fragrances were first sprayed and worn either in the wrong season or I didn’t give them a chance to macerate. A 2ml sample would have never allowed me to enjoy and love them the way I do now. That said, the same goes for sampling and liking a fragrance, so much so that you purchase the full bottle from a 2ml wear test. If I purchased an FB because of a sample, and once I receive it and use it a few times, it never smells as great as the sample Itself. So much goes into this but it's always so much fun! 😆

My nose has definitely changed over the years, I use to be a gourmand girly only. However, now I love fresh/Aquatic and more florals.

It’s crazy how our nose can change so much, sometimes I’m just like ok, Amy what the heck do you like?! 😝🤣 but I did notice I love fresh scents too and gourmands are a love in fall and winter ❤️🥰

I appreciate how you don't just bash a fragrance but instead go into detail on why it doesn't work for you. Whether it doesn't mesh well with your skin chemistry or if there's something off about the notes etc. I also think it's great that you're open to revisit a fragrance and give it a second chance. Thanks for sharing :)

Yesss to a part 2, this was so much fun!! I actually tested Donna born in Roma at Sephora one time & didn’t really care for the opening but I noticed throughout the day I kept getting really pretty wafts of it and it was so long lasting but I felt like it was something I probably wouldn’t wear too often 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I do appreciate it on others 🥰 And your eye makeup is sooo beautiful girly!!😍

Same thing happened to me! I thought it was very generic and kinda heavy at first spray but people kept complimenting me left and right. I enjoy the drydown but idk if Ill get a full bottle or not :/

We definetely change our nose to fragrances over time, it happened so many times with me. You are absolutely right about not getting influenced by someone else´s opinion. I would love to see more videos like this one!

I love this idea and video! Mon paris and BBWs into the night pair beautifully together. I was not a fan of mon paris at first either but it grew on me.

For me, I first couldn't get on board w Kayali vanilla candy rock sugar, but now I love it! For me, it had to do w what I was layering it with. ❤

Same. I kept trying it in store, and was like no, then got an actual sample, and now I love it. Ended up getting a fb. It was my sotd actually. I'm really glad I kept trying it

Such a great video, Amy. I really appreciate your opinions. That's why I never understand why people get so offended over people not liking the same perfumes they do. To the point where every time I watch a frag declutter video, they give a disclaimer that they don't mean to offend anyone... why do some people expect everyone to have the same opinion as them? especially when it's something so personal like fragrance. Also for us women, our hormones affect our sense of smell and body chemistry throughout the days of the months. Thanks for sharing!

FUN! So Mon Paris is a love for me, but pricey. Armaf Miss Chic is Mon Paris but with a bit more strawberry sweetness and less patchouli. It lasts all day and a deal on Joma❤. I have done this- where I’m astounded when I go back to things and totally change my mind 😂❤!

Love this! I like that you chose a variety of perfumes to review here, like not all gourmands or all fruity scents for example, I like the variety! I hope you do a part 2!

Maybe the samples had to macerate like the regular flankers. I have had so many blind buys that I hated at first sniff, but once they macerated they are amazing!

Amy Alien is my number 1 perfume for going out nice, it has been my favorite for probably 15 years and I always get compliments when I wear it. I will give you this it is very strong but I love it.

One of my favorites is Jo Malones Scarlett Poppy! Makes me want to try the Carolina Herrera fragrance. I usually don’t like designers

At first, I didn't like yum pistachio from Kayali. Now I love it, and I'm seriously considering buying another bottle once I'm done.

Hey Girl! Nice to see that you go trough samples of fragrances that you didn't enjoy before, because our noses and maybe skin chemistry change overtime. I own all 4 of these fragrances and enjoy them a lot, but I gotta say I only wear them in cold weather and not in the heat or summer. I had experienced a change in the og olympea and my way...I used to hate this fragrances but when I now smelled them I actually enjoyed both

Would love to see more vids of you sorting through your sample collection. I got some in the mail from Fragrancenet recently. Sometimes its obvious that we dont like it and sometimes you gotta leave it on a while.

Part 2 please!!! For me Gucci Flora Gardenia. I have a few perfumes with Gardenia but they're not as bothersome like Gucci. It smells really good though.

I used to scrub things off right away if I didn’t like it and didn’t let things settle. I just retried by the fireplace and I still hate the initial blast of smoke but I finally got the yummy marshmallow dry down

I had the same reaction with Born in Roma original. I had a sample of it from Sephora wore it 2x and I tossed it. Now I love the dry down of Alien.

My Mum bought me YSL mon paris when I visited her in Israel. It was hot, and the perfume smelled heavy and unpleasant. I went home (England) and WOW Mon Paris was just all juicy fruit and berries! On my skin I could not smell the Patchouli at all and it quickly became my favourite easy-reach fragrance this (rather chilly) summer here in England. So glad I love it now. On my skin it is mainly Strawberry and Raspberry and the deep drydown turns into this gentle almost edible sweetness... maybe vanilla? I love it!

Amy this was fun and I did enjoy, I smelled donna born in roma and alien and both of those didn't work on my skin either. Maybe I'll try to give them another sniff but right now they are still no's for me. My nose has gotten very sensitive within the last few years, the only thing my nose gravitate to are fresh scents, like fresh washed clothes or dryer sheet scents. Other notes like vanilla, lavender, pear, peach notes I don't like, it is crazy how our nose is.

Vanilla 28! It has taken so much for me to enjoy that fragrance. I had to let it sit for a year to get more gourmand versus floral.

Hey Amy, thank you. I love all the fragrances. I have 4 C.H. and I love them all. I don't have Valentino Donna born in Roma or YSL Mon Paris., I like them .

Enjoyed this so much because I'm also loving the perfumery world. I love this so much because I owned two of the four and felt the same way about them. 🤯 mind blowing. Now I don't think I'd want to purchase the born in Roma. I owned Carolina Herreira(very good girl glam and supreme)and Mon Paris ysl(dirty classy feminine grown woman)❤

For me, it was Replica Autumn Vibes. I didn't hate it but it wasn't a like as well because I thought it was better off as a candle or something like a house scent and so I kept the sample but after almost a year I tried it again and now I want a full bottle 😅

I would love to see a part 2. I'm still not a fan of any of the Alien flankers

I have a full bottle of ysl Mon Paris and it’s been 2 years and I still can’t do it . The powder is too much yet I try STILL a few times a year waiting for my mind to change. I want to love it and I don’t. It’s frustrating. So I get it. We all can’t love everything and it doesn’t mean it’s bad some just can’t. It’s not serious and people who don’t like the dislike need to move on .

I think what’s happened is that the samples have sat for a while and macerated on top of the fact you’re in a different climate which will change the perfume. I’ve mentioned this somewhere before (maybe on Carmen’s channel) that even when you’re on your period, the scent of a perfume can change. I’ve noticed that for me at least.

Can you link the storage containers? Love the idea

I found the one I have at Ross randomly but I’ve seen them at Walmart and Amazon has a lot of them too 🥰❤️

Oh and yes ysl Mon paris is that girl. I just wished it lasted and projected a little bit longer. Originally I bought it and didn't like it. Took it back and bought the intensement and like it. Stop reaching for it after while and smelled the Mon paris original again and fell in love. It's crazy. It probably had to macerate.

It’s so true that everyone’s noses are different. I smell Mon Paris and it’s too powdery and vintage on me. 🥴

LOVE the opening of Good Girl Glam, but it dries down so bitter on me. I decluttered my 30 ml. And Mon Paris-the dry down is straight dirt.

Yeah good girl glam dry down smelled like that neighbor of your friend or neighbor that visit and her lipstick is smeared and she smokes and always want people to go to the store for her to get more cigarettes and a Pepsi

I also didn't like Mon Paris... I feel like a lot of those older floral patchouli scents are starting to seem dated (eg La Vie Est Belle). I think that's why the flankers tend to be sweeter. I like Mon Paris Intensement. Gourmands, vanillas, warm and edgier florals (eg libre, voce viva) are having a moment and older releases without patchouli (Flowerbomb, La Belle) are still popular.

You mentioned that you smelled some of them in Puerto Rico. Have you ever noticed how your sense of smell changes depending on the country you're in? Does it probably have something to do with climate, or just plain environment? It happens to me all the time. My fragrances smell differently depending where in Europe I am at a date moment. Is it just a feeling or is there a scientific reason for it?

I love the OG born in Roma, but the INTENSE one I feel is stronger and has more of a stronger jasmine smell on me:(

I agree with you on all of them except the alien, that is my holy grail of fragrances i love mugler in general though. Except the original angel . Born in roma og is lovely but it has a soapyness to it that i just do not gel with either. The good girl range also not a yes for me, but very good girl not bad, wont buy a bottle though, mon paris, so disappointing from one of my favourite parfume houses. Glad to see i am not the only one.

Great video! Love doing this too, your nose totally changes over time. Mine is Chloe Nomade, hated it at first, left it alone for a while and now I’m obsessed 😂
