Revisited: Abandoned Sun Books - McCandless, PA *DEMOLISHED*

Ойын-сауық

Revisted: Abandoned Sun Books - McCandless, PA. Years of being abandoned and neglected, this place has really seen the wrath of mother nature take its toll on the building. Mold is everywhere and can be smelled outside.

    Hi Wallie...going to roll the dice here, but at age 68, I am going to bet that I am your oldest subscriber...can't explain exactly why I am hooked on your videos, but I think it is the fact that you are genuine, and I like your approach, with a great mix of serious and humorous...keep up the great work, and I will continue to explore with you from the safety of my recliner...😎

    Nice video, WallieB26! The Sun Books really needs to be torn down because it is dangerously moldy in there. I think the Sun Books store opened in 1984.

    I like the revisit. Wow that Sunbooks side looks 100x times worse than almost 2 years ago. I think GE bought this property to keep Walmart from moving in. But the building is well beyond repair now.

    Back in 2017 I already thought you were a filming urbexer pro! All you are doing is just taking your art to higher and higher levels. I subscribed because I love the way you tell a story, add humor and respect everywhere you film. And while some of your videos make me cry (KMarts) I feel good after watching them. LIke this great one. A true artist is never completely happy with what they do. Sometimes I question how I do my Cat sits, is there something I can do better. Not the same thing but I see your point. Love the little fun facts you are adding to the videos like pop up video from the 90s. Hope you continue to do that. The place looks like a breeding ground for weeds and molds. Sadly the building needs to be leveled. I could smell the mold over here and it's nasty. All the way in Jersey city. Think Bally Total Fitness completely went under. I had one up the block which is now 24 hour fitness (though it's not open 24 hours.) You are not fat. You are fine just the way you are. I tell myself this and I don't need to join a health club to work out. I work out chasing cats for meds, lots of walking and lifting my bottles of beer for muscular strenght. Plus I work 8 to 13 hours a day so I could give up sleep and join a health club. Rather work out at home or chase Tigger when she bolts out of my apartment.

    When I came to town for college in 1990, I would spend tons of time in the North Hills due to the fact that you could get there via bus. As a fan of books, I would have loved to know about this place before they closed, but I honestly had never heard of it until this video popped up.

    If you ever get to travel to northwestern Ohio Toledo area, there are sites to behold. Old Hills Dept store that closed became an antique mall ( vendor style flea market) ..other Hills had a pre greenhouse Kroger's attached to side plus Joann fabrics. All leveled for a Walmart super center. Kmart across street closed along time ago. Had auto center separate in front lot. Car lots have fought over property. One started to do work but stopped. Lot completely leveled but now no progress since.....but old label scarred Kmart road sign still stands....other two Kmart's stayed longer but eventually fell to cuts....one remodeled to a Home store. Other sits empty.....

  • @TheCarlkani
    @TheCarlkani5 жыл бұрын

    This was going to be the site for the Walmart. Trader Horn and Sun books would of been torn down and the new Walmart put up somewhere. The Pine Creek Giant Eagle pulled a slick move and bought some land that Walmart needed to make a better entrance/exit and Walmart backed out. At least that is what I heard. Plus the County and Residents were fighting it tooth and nail.
