Revising Paul Kagame: Myth and Reality After the Genocide in Rwanda

Rwandan president Paul Kagame has been hailed as a liberator and highly principled leader. But his post-genocide record tells a different story. A distinguished panel attempts to separate myth from fact.

No worries my friend, disagreeing doesn’t bother me. If you want to send it or private upload it, please do...I have footage from 1990, 1995, 1994, 1996 and 1998. 1990? When RPA invaded Rwanda from Uganda? Whatever our respective thoughts are on it, history bears out that what goes around comes around. Whatever Kigali puts out, is going to come back to Kigali. I appreciate our cordial dialog here on youtube, hopefully it helps lead peace in our region for both of our countries. Peace my friend.

Those who have nerve to speak the truth in public, as you put it, need to first face justice for corruption charges. Rwanda had declared all out war against corruption and we have physical evidence agaist these folks. Others are claiming that Rwanda would assassinate them if they return to Rwanda, but these same people were representing Rwanda in diplomatic missions overseas, and when their time to return home came, in order to replace them with others; they all refused to repatriate

Conversely, I’m concerned for the Rwanda people, the grass in the battle between elephants that’s coming, the other elephant being DRCongo. What Rwanda did in DRCongo, will come back to haunt Rwanda maybe not tomorrow, next month, next year, but it’s coming. Maybe our respective POV will make a positive difference.

And what did DRC not do in Rwanda that now haunts Congo? When talking, let's remove our petty sentiments and do so with an open and enlightened mind. Let's do a thorough research on the Great Lakes conflicts and why states behave the way they do, before reaching conclusions. Congo did a lot of evil to Rwanda in the 1990's and after the genocide. They armed the FDLR (former Hutu extremists and killers in the genocide) and tried in futility to destabilize Rwanda and remove Kagame.

But big powers like France, has maintained and supplied Rwandan former rebels, through UN up to this day, and all Congolese believe that Rwanda is a handicap to their development and stability. I tell you right here right now, Rwanda goes into Congo not so often, but it does, it’s because of national security, and not for economical reasons. Ever wondered why the UN can’t get rid of those rebels or allow Rwanda to end them? It’s to keep what Western intelligence call: Check and Balance.

Why do you have to know who is Tutsi, Hutu, Twa, Zulu, Shona, Luo, Bemba, Mungo as so on for you to come to any part of Africa? How will that benefit you? Why is it important that I should define myself the way you want me to? If you are not happy with me and Kagame defining myself as we deem fit, then don't come to Africa at all. Stay home and love your kids and neighbors and pray to your god in peace and be happy.

You are wrong. Kingdom was not for tutsi. It was for one family as it is the case in UK, Netherland, etc. This artificial ethnicity has been exagerated by colonialists. Ethinies are scientificaly caracterised by cultural barriers like languages, region, etc. In Rwanda we are all banyarwanda. This history is complicated. Do not base your talk on the testimony of this arrogant former ambassador who seems not to know his history. I has been in the USA in 1999 when he was there as ambassador. I know who is. Ten years after this discussion, what is the situation while Rudasingwa said the moment were like just before 1994. HRW try to change the view of Rwanda. If this way helps you to collect money, it will not for a long time. Try to look for other things which can soustainable for the Human beeing History. Stop your manipulation. Neo colonialists tried and they have failled on that.
