I tried the BOJ sunscreen this summer for the first time and I absolutely loved it. My ride or die sunscreen is from a small Japanese brand called Rafra 🍊 bc it's brown skin friendly and smells like oranges. Rafra products are expensive to get in the US, though, so the BOJ is a great substitute.

I’ve never heard anyone with a similar reaction to the BOJ-adjacent sunscreens so I’ll share mine. Everyone raves about how these are chemical sunscreens for sensitive skin, but BOJ, Skin1004, and Mary and May all sting pretty badly on me. Never had an issue with any other sunscreens stinging (including American chemical sunscreens) so my daily go-to remains the Isntree sun gel.

I just wish it’s water resistant/proof as I am very active the whole day. My 9 year old loves the stick better than the lotion. Have you tried the Biore Aqua Rich LOTION? That is my sunscreen now cause they’re like the Tocobo BUT water resistant and doesn’t turn me into a greasy disco ball. No eye sting despite the kinda strong alcohol smell 😅 Reapplication is so good even after 3rd or 4th reapplication and I use tons of it as I am super scared of burning as I am using tretinoin 0.05%.

BOJ has dibutyl adipate which websites describe as an emollient/solvent oily liquid... so is this essentially oil on par with other oils or is it less intense? i only ask because this doesn't mix well with 90% of cosmetics which contain silicone especially for concealer where the eye skin is obv more mobile, and silicone + oil is known to break makeup apart.

On me the soon jung sunscreen was really moisturizing, a bit too emollient and slightly greasy-feeling for my oily skin in a humid environment but it's not bad. After 20 mins, it only leaves a slight tacky feeling behind and a natural glowy finish. It works well under makeup and doesn't seem to mess up my makeup throughout the day. So yeah, a solid sunscreen!

How many pumps of the SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum would you guys say are required for the face on average?

Technically lavender oil is mostly associated with calming the skin but they did add that on top of fragrance and tea tree so I really don't know how they justify their claim that it's suitable for sensitive skin as it is anything but that.
