The Norwegian Wood shirt is a callback to the cover of the original Japanese edition of the second volume, which uses the same colors and minimal font. The green can also be construed as a reference to Midori. Do you even Murakami bro?

I’ve been called out!! Good to know, but it’s still makes for an ugly shirt...

Clearly there are design elements of each of these shirts that could have been better; however, I was so happy to find shirts that celebrated his writings. I purchased 3 of them. I will wear them, not so much as statements of fashion, but in the hopes of possibly catching the eye and attention of another Murakami fan and perhaps a simple exchange of mutual appreciation of his works that might follow. Thank you for posting this unique review!

Thanks for the review, the first tee is very cool! But I like the Norwegian Wood design the most. I think it looks the most “literary”. Kinda reminds me of the Fitzcarraldo Editions book covers. And I like how the text is stitched, not printed. The colour combination is striking and unexpected. The shocking red in a forest of green, to me, captures the unnerving melancholic mood of the book.

The shirts look like PlayStation 1 Graphics. Kinda sad
