Reviewing More Matches from My 1st Online Experience

Ойындар

Today I'm looking back at my some of my very first matches as a SF newbie to find out where I went wrong and what I could have done to improve my gameplay. Less character specifics and more general issues I had with execution. Kinda chatty instead of any teaching this time but hopefully it's not too bad haha. As always thank you for watching :D

He beat me and dealt with my spam for 19 matches so I think it’s fair 😆 plus he let a new lil Jamie get his drinks too

You have a great mindset for learning. Labbing the punishes and drilling out execution can be frustrating at times, but it is necessary.

Thank you! Completely agree, it's tough taking that practice into a real match but it does end up clicking and paying off eventually

This isn't critical to know, but w/r/t getting accidental supers instead of DP, you could always use the plinking method - especially if your box controller has it set so that up + down simultaneously gives you a neutral input. You just press in order without releasing the following buttons: forward, down, then up follow by (or at the same time as) kick or punch as necessary, and it should give you a clean 623+X input. You can also do the same for quarter-circle motions by pressing down into forward/back and then up (and release forward/back and up and do it again for supers, etc).

@@_kmiyako_ Yeah, BrianF has a video on it called like "I cracked the code" or something relatively recently, it's what got me looking into ways to use the CPT SOCD to its fullest - really useful for getting level 1s out on reaction to DI in the corner when burned out, etc.

4:40 I agree. This is the worst thing to get consistent. What really makes it happen it the sloppiness of the input unfortunately. If you input the forward you will get lvl 1. I’m in master rank and it happens all the time!

6:45 nicest Ken to ever exist haha great video! and btw you can meaty DR.6HK after 3p rekka at any drink level and with +frames you can catch them mashing with st.lp into target combo. also medium arrow kick gives you meaty DR.6MK for overhead, those help me big time to keep the pressure on especially againt characters with no invincible reversals. and yes another one, you can meaty 6MK from light bakkai knock down, all you need to do is one forward dash into 6MK, then you can either go for 6mk follow up(at 2drinks or more)/throw/ or 4lp if it's a counter hit.
