Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I'm reviewing more cult products available on Stylevana! This time I've looking at skincare as well as makeup. This video is sponsored by Stylevana, but as always, these are my honest opinions of the products. Note: Sunscreens aren't approved in US/EU/UK/AU, but are approved in their respective countries (JP/KR).

    If there is one thing I absolutely adore and envy about Japan, is their effective and lightweight sunscreens. I have only tried Biore watery essence but honestly that alone shows just how effective and cosmetically elegant their sunscreens can be. I have to wonder why these type of sunscreens are only manufactured in Japan and sometimes Korea.

    Different market expectations and uses - everyday sunscreen has been popular in Asia for decades, while most people in Western countries only buy sunscreen for summer holidays so there’s a risk of using the lightweight product for an unfit purpose. There are a handful of really light sunscreens in Western markets now though!

    The canmake spf is also one of my favorites. It only has one flaw: it ends so quickly. They should make a bigger size, I would definitely buy it

    Same! I converted at least 2 person to use this one religiously on top of my mind (could be more actually). My sister and my mom. I am a guy with oily skin and i love the very minimal stickiness. my sister is normal and she said it works well under make up. My mom have dry skin and she said it is not drying to her skin.

    I like that the self-foaming cleansers are so easy to use and save you time in the morning from foaming them up. I enjoy the Hada Labo AHA BHA self-foaming cleanser. Part of the enjoyment I think comes from the mind if u THINK that it is doing good for your skin then you will like it a lot.

Funny that you mentioned not having any fragrance because it included Ylang Ylang oil which I can definitely smell. I love Stylevana for K and J beauty, but you do have to allow four or more weeks for it to get to you. It is not quick. It shops from Hong King, and my last order was bought at the start of October, was only packaged a week ago, and hasn’t yet arrived. Great for Asian skincare bargains, but not the place if you’re after quick delivery. Keoji is a bit more expensive and with a much smaller range, but I also got next day delivery (I’m in Brisbane). I also get very quick delivery from Adore Beauty as well. A couple days tops.

    I've tried two of the products mentioned in this video. Canmake did reformulate the Mermaid Skin, upping the amount of titanium dioxide, and it leaves me with a slight white cast. But even if it didn't, there's no way I'd repurchase such a tiny bottle, despite how cheap it is in Japan. Was gorgeous under makeup, tho. The Hada Labo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser in the tube is my HG. No matter how many other cleansers I try, I keep coming back to it, boring as it is. The packaging says, and I've found to be true, that you can occasionally forget to do the rest of your routine because it leaves the skin so well-hydrated. It's also dirt cheap. I've never used the foaming bottle version.

    that nivea sunscreen is my holy grail. I'm broke so I usually don't have the luxury of buying good sunscreens, the ones I tried before were thick super uncomfortable on my oily skin and I couldn't really use them in a generous amount, and often skipped. The nivea one is quite affordable (it's still expensive to me but in comparison to the other ones it's affordable) and very very comfortable on skin. This has been the only sunscreen that I've used everryday consistently, I use it all year round, even in humid summer times and it has been a really great experience.

    May I ask you : I read that asian sunscreens don't protect as well as european ones as asians typically already protect their skin a lot with hats and long sleeve shirts. Is this true ?

  • @littleblackpistol

    @littleblackpistol

    Yes. They avoid sun generally, unlike Europeans, US, and Australians etc. They don't lie out with sunscreen .. they don't lie out at all. Swimming, not done during the day outdoors so much. They do use a lot of coverings - hats, visors, hand coverings when riding bicycles etc. They simply do not sun worship. They prize light unfreckled (hence 'whitening' products in every line which are supposed to remove any freckles) skin above any other look. They don't want to appear 'bronzed' as it is not perceived as beautiful. They don]t fake bake because the sun burned look is avoided in any form. They simply avoid sun exposure like the plague as the first form of protection rather than do what European etc do which is go out in strong sun a lot with bare skin and either seek a tan or just try to get around it with only sunscreen. Source - lived in Japan and Singapore, in the latter in places with a shared swimming pool attached to our living arrangements. You never once saw the locals use those pools during the day, only at night. You're not suposed to use sunscreens in pools in Asia anyway, as they will end up in the water. So you use the pool at night when you're not going to risk your unprotected skin.

    I'm German and Nivea is a German brand - so I really don't understand why they make a decent sunscreen but don't sell it here. smh. The sunscreens you can buy here at the drugstore are the typical pasty/oily/sticky ones that break you out just thinking about applying them.

    A lot of Eskinol products are astringents from what I can recall. They do clean your skin but they end up being too stripping and will damage your skin barrier in the long run. I don't get why they're still so popular apart from them being cheap compared to a lot of actually good cleansers on the market.

    @@user-lm4ww5ss6z yeah I absolutely agree. I grew up using it and only started using it less and less recently. And noticed that my skin wasnt necessarily getting worse as a result.
