To be honest, I liked the spinner belts not because it was great design, but because it fit John Cena's Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick. When Cena transitioned out of the Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick, that is when the spinner belt just didn't make sense anymore, and they should have reverted back to the original design, as well as they should have reverted back to the original design when someone else won the belt kept the spinner belt exclusively for the Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick.

Agreed. The spinner belt became less synonymous with the “Dr. of Thuganomics” and more synonymous with John Cena himself. Changing the belt or keeping the spinner design close to him probably would’ve helped

This has always been my argument and part of the reason I think resentment grew for Cena. Even when he wasn't champ, it was still 'his' belt. Imagine if while Austin was hurt in 2000, Rock and HHH would have fought over the Smoking Skull belt.

The heat for that Magnum-Nikita feud in 1986 was incredible. Both came out of their best-of-7 series that summer looking like stars. And, of course, Dusty used that to his advantage after Magnum's accident when he turned Nikita face. One of my core wrestling memories as a kid.

In early 1986 I saw Magnum T.A. vs Tully Blanchard at a house show at my high school. Tully pulled down Magnum's shorts and every woman there....had a moment. And maybe got the seats wet. Good times.

So fun fact about One Man Gang taking the belt of Sasaki. The reason they had to do it that way, is because Sasaki was a New Japan guy they put the belt on during their working relationship, but Sasaki wouldn't drop the belt. So they did a screwy finish that they would air on TV where OMG beat him but reastart the match so Sasaki believed he retained but then they took the title off him. Only in WCW 😂

I think R Truths US title in 2019 was won via a botched finish. I think Nakamura didn't kick out properly during a roll-up and the ref just counted three

@@codyssmith73 I think Nakamura might be a genuine shout for the worst IC champion of all time for exactly this reason. He held it forever and didn't do a single thing with it for well over 100 days and then lost it on Smackdown to Braun Strowman.

I think it was a thing where Apollo missed a title defense against MVP because of covid so MVP declared himself champion and introduced the new design even though Apollo was still officially recognised so when Apollo came back and beat MVP he took the new belt and started using it.

Well, Booker got injured during Match 4, and the rest of the series was finished by Randy Orton. Orton won the title for the injured Booker, and then Booker lost it at the next PPV to Benoit anyways.

One reason the US title got stripped and vacated so many times in the NWA/WCW days was that the US Champ was (in kayfabe) considered the number one contender for the World Title. They often used it to either propel someone into the main event, or to give a main eventer something to do while they weren't world champion. That being the case, they often didn't want to beat the US Champ, to keep him strong for his eventual shot at the World Title. So they would be stripped of the title due to shenanigans, or vacate it when they won the bigger belt. Or, in some cases, got head-hunted by McMahon. And yet, the title somehow maintained its prestige because they always treated it like a prize worth having.

*I was always confused why when you get a sample of paint to check our the color do they give you so much? I always said you can just use the sample instead of buying some. People would ask what could you paint with that tiny amount? Now I can reply, the missing blue piece of the stripe behind oli davis*

This was really good the United States championship was always one of WWE top championship to win it before moving on to the WWE or world heavyweight championship title picture, it’s just to bad with Logan Paul holding it at the moment the championship isn’t being looked at significantly or being defended.

It may not have had anything to do with his reign…but when using three words to describe anything about Kalisto it really should just be “good lucha thing.”
