I wasn't familiar with any of their other work (except Phoebe's feature on SOS). Absolutely incredible. "Emily I'm Sorry" is my favourite song

they're amazing as solo artists too! highly recommend you to check them out. home video (from lucy) is my favorite album from 2021, she's a really really good storyteller

Agreed!!! Been waiting for a full length from them, and this did not disappoint. Definitely an AOTY contender.

At this rate there is a contender for AOTY dropping every month.

This is good, but I prefer the EP from 2018. Maybe it captured the first spark of their friendship and creativity in a way that was hard to replicate. A lot happens in five years. All 6 of the EP's songs are killer and there's an underlying urgency to it, the sound of younger artists still trying to "make it" I think.Still The Record has its moments. $20, Emily I'm Sorry, and Not Strong Enough are very good songs with interesting production touches. True Blue is a really sweet composition by Lucy, but I feel like the bland, weepy production really lets it down, for what would otherwise be THE standout song on the album.

One of the few times i gotta disagree, this album was definetly a huge disappointment for me, a lot of the instrumentals felt so much more bland than what im used to from these three really talanted people, the writing also felt shallow a lot of times, like someone attmpted to write like them, and overall it didnt really make that much of an impression on me when it was over. Comparing this to the EP they realesed back then, they seem so much less driven and unfocused.

I do think I prefer the EP as well, but I appreciate this one for what it is. The more rock-y songs will take some time to grow on me!

i wouldn't really call it huge disappointment personally but i agree that it wasn't as good as i expected. the first three singles are definitely the strongest songs on the album and the rest isn't quite as good. i feel like it's missing a certain kind of energy that made their other music great.
