Anthony Smith by Phillips' definition that means that I'm "Common and Sellable" - yes, yes I am 🤣
Love your work on this channel IDguy!👍👍. Hope to see more great videos in the future
Lot 67, hang in there, man - this video is fantastic
42:50 that is just beautiful... and that's why I got the dan henry 1962 panda chronograph. It really recreates the Universal geneve model fantastically without straight copying and for the price I can't think of many better options for the original watch. cheers!
I think your mention of “Fine and rare” over and over confirms the proverb “Two wrongs don’t make a right”
Lot 53; great; commentary focused on appreciation of the watch and design
Lot 43; one change in watch industry is that no longer have independent case makers who would bring designs to Patek, VC, etc., and so more impetus for creativity and distinctive designs
Lot 45; love the design commentary, evolution commentary and comparison of design to the previous chrono
Lot 46, like the design commentary and the point about what Omega should be doing with their historical design catalogue
Gotta hop, I’ve really enjoyed this - thank you! Try the Hong Kong auction, the selection is much more diverse. You’ll be faster if stay focused on design rather than value. Happy to provide notes ;)
Lot 56; great, cool design commentary
Lot 48; it is always interesting to note the lots that fail to sale. Need to read the condition report. Replaced/service elements of the watch? Sometimes consignors just want too much for their prized pieces
Lot 77; watch prices are not typically correlated with dimensions; read the description - its a recased antique movement, and complication is archetypical for AP
Lot 75; enjoying the design commentary
This stream was great. Thanks heaps!
Lot 44; buyers can find patina reassuring because it speaks to absence of refinishing on the case
Lot 61; during the auction, and only during the auction, achieved sale prices are hammer prices and do not include premium. Not until the auction is over will the auction house convert everything to buyer price, inclusive of premium, which is the right number to compare to the estimate.
Lot 42; good design commentary
Thank you IDGuy you made me laugh and that is priceless
I must say I kind of like the charcoal Daytona, it gives out a “murdered out” vibe hahahaha... but honestly, it looks so weird that I like it a lot
Lot 91; 27 mms a typo by Phillips; this is alternative casing of 3970 - was not well received at the time and so Patek made very few
Lot 40; sometimes consignors will make the auction house take a lower value lot/s along with a more significant piece/s
insane prices for the usual suspects - I am glad a I have some, yes I love the 1655 also

The 1655 is so frickin' pretty. I have a Steinhart Ocean Vintage GMT, which sports a dial that's a direct copy of it. I tell ya, I bought the thing 5 mins after I learned of its existence!, no exaggeration. Don't regret it either. One of my favourite pieces in the collection. Look after yourself and your residents. I've worked within residential rehabilitation programs. Tough but rewarding gig. 🙏 Anthony.
Lot 64, Cartier ALWAYS uses white gold clasps with platinum case watches. I don’t know why, ask Cartier
Lot 39; why not comment on the utility of world time design vs gmt design? that would be interesting to hear; the further discussion of lug design was interesting
Lot 57; why don’t you like the stone dials? Ie explain your point of view one way or another
Lot 73; it’s the 23 year old intern stuck in the corner who has to write these descriptions
Lot 66: Example of a watch that got forced on Phillips by someone consigning something more expensive
Lot 52; great; design commentary
Lot 60; condition - prices are non-linear - prices order of magnitude higher for good vs. world class
Lot 61; glad your could just speak to enjoyment of the piece and design. You are not interpreting prices correctly. With premium it went for more than $1 million and thus pretty close to high end estimate; the estimate was well done. (Estimates are for ultimate buyer prices, including premium)
Great Vide! If you all want to sell your luxury watch, we pay in cash at the best valuation!
Lot 70; see previous comment on condition and value. Literally one order of magnitude more expensive than previous lot
Lot 50; need to read condition report. Has the dial been refinished? That would reduce value. No sense of how much polishing it has endured
Lot 41; lost opportunity to comment on 1940’s dial design, their density, etc.
How can i not see yr channel everytime my next channel plays ?
Q - "what is the answer to the meaning of life the universe and everything?" A - 42
10 out of 10 for stamina.
Lot 120, Sick up and fed of it??? Perhaps you meant fed up and sick of it

It's an inside joke in my household, the expression has always just stuck (makes people do a double take) ;)
I agree that the shoe polished Daytona is the most ugly in that auction. Great show as always. Cheers...
They didn't even try to call lot 173 "attractive"
Honestly what a boring auction catalogue, its all the same watches and it have been the same watches for the last 3 years+. with the prices I can only shake my head but this is the new normal.
I have about a thirty-year-old the most ugliest Rolex root beer color
