Very good channel. Thank you. I think that the perceived feel difference is due to the different beam thickness too. But it is interesting to hear that it is such a noticeable difference.

Very keen for this comparison vid as I use Blade 98 and 100 V8s as my match sticks. And generally agree with all of your comments. With the glaring exception of the 100 being more controlled! 😂 Though to be fair; it is the most controlled 100” 16x19 I’ve used. Though not “because of spin” that’s not “control”. That’s just spin. Anyways… they make a great pair. When I’m knackered in a third set, or just having one of those days.. being able to pull out the 100 is amazing. Though I needed a fair bit of weight added to the V8 for decent power. Great combination of rackets. V9s look lush. Maybe I need another 98… Also - i also use sync full bed in both. Perfect mix. When will you guys get some reels in!? 🙏 Keep the great content rolling. ❤

Thanks guys, this video was really helpful for me as I have narrowed down by racket search to these two and will demo as soon as I can get up the waiting list! One question please - how did the 98 v 100 compare on serve?

Have used a Wilson Blade for years but recent arm injury caused someone to recommend a lighter Yonex racquet. But the matching shoe offer - oooo so tempting! Assume you have rackets in store so I can compare weight of the 100 with my current Blade 104 BLX? Will likely pop in tomorrow.

Are you guys getting in the new Dunlop CX rackets? If so please review the 200 OS. I can't believe how much I like it. Super spinny, good power, plush feel.

Just love watching you two! Thanks so much. To me it‘s clear now, if Blade then 100 , as I need that „help“ from the racket. Now I Need to decide between Head Boom MP and Blade. Maybe you Are keen on comparing those two too 😉

It’s worth mentioning that whilst one of my Blade 100s was 300g, the other was 305! So I assume you could buy a 98 and a 100 and find the 100 is heavier…. I add weight anyway, but it did make it awkward, because the extra weight from the factory was in the handle/throat, and I couldn’t achieve what I wanted and match them, which was a 300g racket with a bit of weight in the head.

Generally if you have same RA with different beam width, the thicker one is likely to be more cushioned, because it’s kind of “more material bends the same way means material itself is softer”. When you have thin beam 62 vs a bit thicker beam 60, it’s kind of ok that the thin beam 62 will feel firmer. For example, Speed line with 23mm beam is possibly the most cushioned.

I got the 100 and with just a touch of tungsten tape it's amazing. Also given that it's only 300 you have quite a bit of room to work with.

I’m demoing the 98 this week… Played the 100 a couple weeks ago and my opponents saw the lack of stability, and it’s completely underpowered. The 100 is a beautiful racquet, but pretty much a 100sq platform racquet. Played the 98 today and night/day difference… stability, power, and more control for a stock stick. I wasn’t able to generate as much spin as the Vcore, or the v9 100, but it was without a doubt the better of the two. There are much better 100s available, so unless you customize the v9 100… look elsewhere.

I have to agree tbh…. I enjoy this channel and the guys work, reviews and the banter etc they implement but for some reason something was off between the 2 of them in this review. Not usually one for agreeing with comments like this if I don’t see it or feel it but definitely did. A bit too sarcastic and disagreeing but not in a way that seemed constructive. Sorry guys just my honest opinion. Stopped watching at 8:45 👎 To say a 100sq Blade has more control than a 98sq Blade is just wild to me as well 🤯

Lighter racquets are not ideal for customising. They are often very head heavy and stiffer. If you add weight in the head you have to counterbalance in the handle. You will end up with a massive static weight... it's pointless!
